Active Learning: Your Shortcut to Outsized Returns

Part 1: The Learning Loophole

Here are some tips for entering and maintaining flow states:

  • Choose a Challenging Task: Flow states occur when you're engaged in a task that is challenging but not overwhelming. The task should be slightly beyond your current skill level, pushing you to stretch and grow.

  • Eliminate Distractions: To enter flow, you need to minimize distractions and create a focused environment. This means turning off notifications, closing unnecessary tabs, and finding a quiet place to work.
