In this series you will be introduced to a practice that is classically stated to cultivate resilience, equanimity, and clarity of mind - bringing with it the opportunity for more creative and balanced ways of living.
The series begins in the week of August 19th. Each week there will be a recorded talk and essay released, in addition to a live session for practice and discussion.
The series is designed to be compatible with less than 1.5 hours of engagement with content per week. The best outcomes are expected to be for those who combine the scheduled content with daily practice.
Simply, if we want to see life unfold with a particular aspiration, it is helpful to understand how attention flows, and develop our own understanding of experience. Our mind states influence our decision making, and our decision making influences the outcomes in our life.
The mind is constant throughout all areas of our life.
The teacher and guide for this series is John (also known as @know on Warpcast).
Who is John?
John is a mindfulness meditation teacher. He was drawn to a regular committed practice after a period of intense anxiety in 2018, whilst his first experimentation with meditation and self-help began ~2014. John has practiced with individual teachers and attended multiple retreats of different traditions as well as training for over two years across two different meditation teacher trainings.
His first forays into crypto occurred through listening to a podcast called âSynchronicityâ in 2020.
Open Air will be the first meditation series he has ever offered to the world of crypto.
Why âOpen Airâ?
The name for the series comes from asking the question; âWhat does going âhigherâ mean?â
In exploring his own answer, John came to feel that it couldnât mean endless drive and ambition, but it also couldnât mean going nowhere or staying stagnant.
When John returned to read the cast from lght.eth that started /higher, it became clear that there were parallels in the âmental modelâ being proposed with what Tibetan Buddhism calls âbasic goodnessâ, what many religions might call âthe grace of Godâ, and what Carl Jung might call âan original sense of wholenessâ.
For this course, that basic ground, spaciousness, fundamental free-ness, or abundance has been named âOpen Airâ.
The invitation is simple:
Bring your effort and curiosity to Open Air, and discover how mindfulness meditation can help you to discover how mind is a medium with which you can work to change your experience of life.
There is aspiration in meditation practice, there is method and effort. However, there is also rest and openness, wisdom and clarity of seeing.
Weâll go Higher, into Open Air, together.
