Today, I'll keep it short. First, I've found three awesome Medium articles on books. You'll definitely want to read these three articles:
Why Don't Older Kids Read Books? - Author George Dillard tackles why teen reading has declined. He offers four theories. It's likely a combination of them.
The Benefits of Books On Your Brain - People who read know that reading has benefits. Elias Bsaibes keeps it short, but you'll know why reading books is important after consuming this. Pass it along to a friend.
Get Paid for Reading Books -- Sites Paying Over $500 Per Read - Do you dream of earning money reading books? These sites all pay book reviewers, and some of them will pay people to write reviews just because they like books. Do you like books? Become a book reviewer. You won't get rich, but you can earn extra money doing something you enjoy.
Do You Prefer Substack or Paragraph?
A great big thanks to those of you who have already answered this question. If you haven't taken my one-question survey yet, let me know if you prefer to read on Paragraph or Substack. Even if you read my newsletters in your email inbox, I'd still like you to take the survey. That's even one of the options.
One question, three choices. Five seconds.
Hello, Granbury!
This week, I'm heading to Granbury, Texas.
I love Granbury. Not only is it a cozy little community in Texas, but it has a beautiful historic district. And it's got a beautiful lake - Lake Granbury. This week, I'll be signing books in Granbury, setting up shop at the Kroger store located at 3915 E US Highway 377.
I'll be setting up my book signing table during the following times:
Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Let your friends and family know. If anyone is in Granbury, Texas this week, stop by Kroger and get your book signed. If you've bought one of my books online, you can still get it signed. Just bring it by with your proof of purchase.
