Education is UNESCO’s top priority because it is a basic human right and the foundation for peace and sustainable development.

Education is UNESCO’s top priority because it is a basic human right and the foundation for peace and sustainable development. ( yet, even so, 250 million kids are still out of school ) ( ps. The world is fine, with or without humans on it ! )

In a world grappling with numerous crises, from climate change to social inequality, the future can often seem bleak for the younger generation. ( hmm, yes, since we tend to avoid focus on the wonder of the world we live in, and find it far easier to moan than to propose a solution, far easier to have a 20 minute negative conversation than a two minute positive one, far easier to purchase more than to reduce our footprint ) the UNESCO's recent initiatives, particularly their "Happy Schools" framework, aim to transform this outlook by embedding happiness and well-being at the core of educational systems globally. This vision aligns closely with the principles of Happytalism, which emphasizes happiness and well-being as central to socio-economic development.

UNESCO's Happy Schools Initiative

UNESCO's "Happy Schools" framework is a holistic model that focuses on creating joyful learning environments. ...where happiness is both a means and an end of education (UNESCO) (UNESCO). The initiative calls for integrating happiness into all aspects of school life, promoting positive relationships, engaging learning processes, supportive environments, and holistic educational principles (UNESCO) (World Education Blog).
