We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Symbiotic to assist in underwriting architecture risks across their modular and permissionless ecosystem, from the restaking protocol level, deployed networks, to liquid restaking protocols.
Symbiotic: Modular & Permissionless Restaking
Symbiotic is a shared security protocol that allows network builders to manage their own restaking implementations in a permissionless manner. Its modular design gives networks control over staking aspects such as collateral assets, node operator selection, rewards, and slashing mechanisms, allowing flexible participation. Their non-upgradeable core contracts on Ethereum help minimizing governance risks and single points of failure. Additionally, its multi-asset, network-agnostic approach ensures capital efficiency through restaked collateral and a reputation-based system, enhancing economic security and scalability.
Although introducing modularity and permissionless doesn't come without its risks, in an already "black-boxed", cascading-risk prone restaking paradigm.
Improving Infra Risk Underwriting for Symbiotic
Our partnership with Symbiotic focuses on closely working with the Symbiotic team and research and advise on best risk-minded practices across different verticals in their protocol. The modular and permissionless nature brings risks that were out-of-scope for the pioneering restaking protocol: EigenLayer. Therefore infrastructure risks need to be assessed anew and from first principles, and that's where Tokensight comes in.
For improved context, we will start by devising system-wide risk metrics for Symbiotic and contrast them against other restaking protocols. We will then dive more granularly into the architecture of deployed Networks (similar to AVSs on EigenLayer), Resolvers, and Operators.
