AlfaFrens is an app built on Farcaster which allows users to create a "paid gated" channel... something like Hypersub, Patreon etc.. BUT different.
Why?
Because people who subscribe to channels can earn too, not just creators.
How?
By subscribing to a channel, you earn $ALFA which you can easily stake in someone's channel (even if you're not subscribed to it) and receive a portion of that channel's earnings.
For example:
If you have 50 subscribers that pay 1000 $DEGEN per month.
30% of that 50k goes to you and the remaining 70% goes to the stakers based on how much $ALFA they staked.
By subscribing to channels, you get a gated chat where subscribers can read what the owner says, but other people can not read what everyone else is saying.
Personally I think is very smart, because the conversation is kept between the channel owner and the community.
Let's say i have an "Alfa info" about a cool nft project or a coin or whatever.. if i tell you in the chat, but everyone keeps typing, people will miss it...
You can also see every transaction of the connected wallet of the channel owner... this way you can "copy trade" super easily.
Plus, whatever other benefits the channel owner might decide to give you.
Im pretty sure (and hopeful) the team will implement more features for artists as well, like airdrops for subscribers for example... The project is still incredibly new, so we need patience.
Now listen carefully...
The more channels you join, the more $ALFA you get... The more $ALFA you get, the more you can stake... and the more you stake, the more degen you earn...
Make sure to claim your $ALFA at least once every 24 hours or it will stop growing until you claim it.
Also, very important, If you want to unstake from someone, keep in mind that you WILL NOT GENERATE NEW $ALFA AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO JOIN NEW CHANNELS FOR 24 HOURS SINCE YOU UNSTAKED.
Some channels give you more $ALFA then others... and you also need to be smart about WHERE to stake your $ALFA... but lets leave that for another time... for now, what matters is that you understood what AlfaFrens is.
In order for you to join, you'll need an invite, which are quite rare as they give them out to users once a week... just keep your eyes open... im sure your trusted friends will offer you an invite soon.
This is incredibly new, it could disappear tomorrow, or maybe it could be a game changer... who knows? Fuck around and find out...
Just play with money that you can afford to lose, dont overexpose yourself and remember to have fun.
