Game Updates 

  • Arc8 Season 7 Goes Live in Partnership with Benji Bananas, Karmaverse, and More: Arc8 has launched Season 7, with the pre-season running from February 1st to February 8th. This time, players can expect a host of exciting tournaments and NFT whitelist opportunities while playing in the new season. The main season begins on February 8th and will last until March 31st. According to Arc8, this season's GMEE prize pool is once again a massive 4,500,000 GMEE, split among few tournaments. There are way more partnership events to look forward to in Arc8 Season 7. This includes names like  Karmaverse, Benji Bananas, Planet IX, Azarus, etc.

  • Aavegotchi Rarity Farming Season 5 is Live with 1.5 Million GHST in Prizes: Aavegotchi, an open-source NFT gaming protocol on Polygon, has kicked off Rarity Farming Season 5. Like Season 4, this event also features a 1.5 million GHST prize pool, split among the top 7,500 Gotchis. The exciting event will take place over an eight-week period that includes four two-week rounds. The first round begins on January 31st, with the first official snapshot and GHST payout happening two weeks later on February 14th.

  • Fractal's Polygon Launch Tournament is Back in Partnership with League of Kingdoms: Fractal, a leading NFT gaming hub, has teamed up with League of Kingdoms (LOK), a renowned MMO strategy game, to bring the next Polygon Launch Tournament. The competition will be similar to The Great Kingdom event, where players achieve daily objectives and rank on the leaderboard to win prizes. As the game is more focused on resources, existing gamers will have a head start over new players. For that reason, Fractal has set up two leaderboards for both new and OG gamers in the spirit of fair play.

  • Axie Infinity Players Can Now Take Out Loans Using MetaLend on Ronin Network: MetaLend is now live on the Ronin Network, allowing Axie Infinity players to take out loans by borrowing ETH against their NFTs. This means that players can now connect their Ronin wallets and borrow ETH against their assets such as Axies and plots of land. By staking the NFTs on chain, it’s possible to borrow up to 30% of the actual value of the NFTs.

Ecosystem Updates 

  • Sorare partners with Premier League for Web3 fantasy sports: Sorare, the blockchain-based fantasy sports game maker, struck a deal with the most-watched soccer league in the world: the English Premier League. The game will release cards based on players from all 20 of the EPL’s football clubs. These will debut alongside new gameplay features like league-specific competitions, draft-based gameplay and a salary capped-mode. Sorare began with soccer when the NFT-based fantasy sports title launched in 2018. Today, company has deals with nearly 300 soccer clubs in 50 different leagues.

  • Intella X, Neowiz's Web3 gaming platform reveals its ecosystem partners: The platform's initial gaming ecosystem consists of 30+ top-tier global partners from various sectors that include games, investments, blockchain services, and security to accelerate and bolster Web3 gaming through Intella X. The partners of Intella X include Polygon, Animoca Brands, Magic Eden, Big Brain Holdings, Planetarium Labs, Global Coin Research (GCR), ConsenSys (Infura), Neowiz, Arumgames, Blue Potion Games, and many more!

  • ImmutableX to Launch All-In-One Passport System to Onboard New Gamers Into Web3: The new tool, scheduled to launch in April 2023, will act as a non-custodial wallet, gamer profile and authentication solution for Web3 gamers. Players are able to access a suite of tools integrated into the Immutable Passport, including a secure digital wallet, fraud protection and seamless authentication across Web3 games and marketplaces.

  • Xborg launches $100K web3 esports league, Xtreme Championship Series: Xborg, the web3 gaming organization from Swissborg, announced on Feb. 1 that it is launching a web3 esports league entitled Xtreme Championship Series with a $100,000 USDC prize pool. The league will include web3 games Axie Infinity, The Harvest, Gods Unchained, Spider Tanks, and with no sign-up fee or other barriers to entry. Three rounds of monthly qualifiers will be followed by a championship round which will be live-streamed on Xborg’s Twitch channel.
