Not only that, but developers and content crafters are enjoying boundless possibilities for collaboration and innovation. This edition spotlights groundbreaking partnerships and cutting-edge solutions in the web3 gaming world.

Game Updates 

  • Crypto Unicorns reveals new roadmap updates: Unicorns will compete in live bracketed jousting tournaments later in 2022, with up to 32 participants, and some events will have entry fees payable in UNIM or RBW. The jousting matches will showcase strength and speed, with core jousting stats determined by an algorithm based on a Unicorn's base stats. Matches will consist of three rounds, with the winner determined by points or Unicorn knockout.

  • Shatterpoint begins season 6 of closed alpha: To participate in Shatterpoint's Closed Alpha, you must either hold a Founders Collection Hero NFT or apply to become a tester. If you are selected as a tester, you will receive an email with instructions on how to download and play the game. If you are a Founder Hero holder, you must connect your wallet, create a BlockGamesID account, and download the game to start playing. However, your Founder Hero will not be playable during the Closed Alpha.

  • Crabada begins weekly arena tournament: The Week 38 Arena Challenge will take place from 20-26 March 2023. Rules and mechanics for this week include a Crabada level limit of 100, Arena tickets will refill every 2 hours up to a maximum of 6, successful defences won't earn AP, and there will be a hidden Crabada in the opponent's lineup. There will also be factional and formation advantages, and players will be split into different tiers based on their AP.

  • Paradise Tycoon launches free mint: The mint went smoothly and provided valuable insights for the GTM strategy at Paradise Tycoon. Their plan is to onboard mainstream gamers into the NFT ecosystem, with user acquisition KPIs showing promising results. The focus now shifts to monetization, with STE ratio and install-to-NFT purchase conversion being key metrics for mainstream player cohorts. A low barrier for NFT conversion is necessary due to trust issues and accustomed spending behaviours of players.

Ecosystem Updates 

  • Game publisher Jungle raises $6 million: Jungle, a Brazil-based startup, has secured $6 million in seed funding from investors such as Bitkraft Ventures and Framework Ventures to develop a Web3 mobile shooter. The funding will also be used to expand the development team and create the company's first title. Jungle plans to purchase intellectual property from other game studios and adapt it for their mobile games rather than creating their own characters and lore. 

  • Bloxmith launches Raiders Rumble on Flow blockchain: Raiders Rumble, a game that offers PvP tournaments and missions to both Web2 and Web3 players, is now available on Google Play and App Store. Passionate players can compete for Flow (FLOW) blockchain prizes. NFT purchases and crypto wallets are not necessary to play the game. Bloxmith developed the game.

  • Pulsar rolls out a testnet ladder event:The Pulsar Game Testnet Ladder is offering a prize pool of $150k in $PLSR to 1,000 players for free. Players can register at http://pulsar.game to participate in the event and earn $PLSR during the ladder, which will be airdropped on the main net.

  • DressX raises $15 million round led by Greenfield Capital: DRESSX has raised $15 million in a Series A funding. The funds will be used to improve the interoperability of its digital fashion assets, enhance the DRESSX app and NFT marketplace, and expand partnerships with social and gaming platforms across traditional media and the metaverse.

  • Gala Games reveals public playtest of Walking Dead Empires: The Walking Dead: Empires public playtest will open today. Players can form alliances and explore 81 zones, with new PvP battlegrounds to battle in. As players grow in power, they can claim territory. The game will be available on Mac and PC.

  • Fragnova reveals new UGC platform for Web3: Fragnova has introduced the Fragnova Creation Operating System, which pairs the Fragnova Network and RareForm Engine to create an immersive and user-friendly game creation system. Fragnova Network is a community-driven platform that empowers content creators by providing them with the right tools and perpetual royalties for their work.
