I saw you
today, kind as always,
in the crowd. I know it wasn't you
as you are no longer
here with us.
Sometimes I see my dad. Sometimes another person I recognise. Then I look again, because it can't be them. I miss them, of course, but not that much that I'm hoping the inevitable is somehow not true. I rather like to think I am seeing the nice elements of their being reflected in others. Or maybe it's just my brain telling me to remember the good things they brought into my life. Anyway, encounters like this always leave me with a smile. And the happiness of meeting so many wonderful people.
Welcome to the new platform. This is the first issue of my regular Friday poetry shot. I have published 189 of them on Substack, and now I've brought them to Paragraph. For better Web3 integration. If you are not interested in that, not much will change for you.
For the subscribers to the onchain poetry digest, there is something new to this. As I am merging my two newsletters, you will receive more posts from me in the future. Fridays are for poetry shots. I'm moving the bi-weekly Onchain Poetry Digest to Tuesdays.
There will be some other changes. Additional posts on the Tuesdays that I'm not sending out the digest, for example. But more about that later. For now, enjoy this.
Change is always a good time to take stock. So, please reevaluate your subscription here. You can always subscribe. Or wait for the new premium subsription program to be launched soon. Please also let me know if you receive a double issue. It shouldn't, but you never know.
Did you know it's Onchain Poetry Writing Month, a challenge to create a poem every day to practice your writing skills, build your creative confidence and have some fun. if you want to participate, you can find a list of prompts here:
