Can you see me,
dad? I'm watching
your favourite game,
with your grandkids,
sharing a
sliver of that love with them.
My dad loved tennis. Not only did he play well into his seventies (maybe even into his eighties), but he watched basically every second of tennis aired on tv. Posters of players and newspaper pages about the game decorated his room. I liked playing tennis, maybe even still do, but never to the level of my dad. Still, the game was always present in my life growing up.
At the Paris 2024 Olympics we went to see an afternoon of tennis. At the legendary Roland Garros venue. Not just to get a taste of the Games, but also to share a bit of the love for tennis with our kids.
What did your parents love when you grew up?

Poésie de la vie
Next up: the paralympics. Getting to that Olympic level is a big goal, and sometimes you need to take small steps to achieve your big goals. Listen to the amazing Diede de Groot - maybe an even more legendary tennisplayer than the Williams sisters, Steffi Graf, Nadal, Federer and Djokovic combined - talk about goals.
