Mountain scent

We're smelling the scents of the mountains in the season to be jolly

The alpine air
is rich in scents:
herbs and flowers,
berries and rocks;
the fir trees
smell of the jolly season.

The mountains are beautiful. The clean air, the scents. And even in summer, the coniferous forest just below the tree line reminds us of the season to be jolly. Once, for Christians, this was a holy season. Now, it's mostly all about the religion of consumerism. Even in that, you can find the pearls of being close to loved ones and being present in the now. We have advent calendars in our family, and every day we open a door to find our gift of the day. And then we tell eachother what we have and talk about it. My calender is the Diamine Inkvent Calendar, which gives me a tiny bottle of ink every day. Ink with names (and thus colours) such as Baltic Breeze, Wilted Rose and Forest Gateau. I use these gifts as inspiration for poems. The one above was inspired by the ink Noble Fir. I am writing these poems on postcards, with the ink that inspired them, of course. I will send them to randomly drawn subscribers to my Hypersub Trpplr. You can have a chance if you subscribe now (with crypto or credit card).

How are you finding what really matters in festive seasons?

The poem above is a highku, a poetic form inspired by the higher culture on Farcaster and the haiku.

Poésie de la vie

We just celebrated Saint Nicholas, a big thing in The Netherlands. Did you know he and Santa Claus are the same person?
