ETH Prague 2024 Highlights
What a weekend! ETH Prague was nothing short of epic. Here are the key highlights from the event:
Thursday: ProtoLayers Conference
Yakuza had the chance to meet Nader, the Director of Developer Relations at EigenLayer.
The conference focused on bridging gaps in the market for technically-oriented crypto events, bringing together researchers, developers, and blockchain specialists. Key topics included:
Consensus mechanisms
Execution environments
Cross-chain protocols
Zero-knowledge proofs
Scalability solutions
Notable speakers included:
Nader, (EigenLayer)
Anett (Last Network)
dcbuilder (Worldcoin Foundation)
Kate Stapleton (Axelar)
Josef Gattermayer (Ackee Blockchain Security)
Marine (Optimism)
The day ended with a get-together at a local beer garden, despite a massive storm that added a dramatic flair ⛈
Friday: Fireside Chat with Vitalik Buterin & Gavin Wood
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the fireside chat with Vitalik Buterin and Gavin Wood, where they discussed various ideas and implementations.
Gavin introduced "Jam," a decentralised hybrid system for Polkadot, while Vitalik dove into ecosystem growth and world improvement narratives.
The day wrapped up with Amanda Cassatt’s insightful talk on crypto's product-market fit today. She highlighted how crypto solves real-world problems and discussed the role of DeFi and speculative markets.
We ended the evening at a VIP rooftop party hosted by Axelar and Ackee, featuring vinyl DJ music, free drinks, and amazing views. 10/10 event 🔥🔥
Saturday: Scaling Communities with Hanna Hadik
Hanna Hadik from Guild.xyz shared how they scaled their community from 0 to 200K+ members without tokenization, focusing instead on gamification.
She provided insights into their strategies and operations, offering valuable lessons for community leaders.
The day was also perfect for networking, snagging swag, and making connections. We met teams from Starknet, Kraken, and Polkadot, among others.
In the evening, we had a Trust Me Bro dinner at a local pub, followed by an unexpected local rave party 👀
Sunday: Beer Event by Solar Punk
We headed to a beer event held by Solar Punk at the Mama Shelter Hotel. The event featured a Swarm showcase and opportunities for networking. It was a great way to unwind and connect with fellow devs and Ethereum enthusiasts.
The official after-party was a boat party, though it had some logistical issues like the lack of food and a less-than-ideal venue. We ended the night with a cozy dinner at a nearby restaurant, enjoying some great Czech food and beers 🍻
Final Thoughts
ETH Prague was an outstanding conference at a fantastic venue, packed with great guests, side events, and parties. We managed to onboard a few friends onto Lens Protocol and connected with many amazing people, plus we met Rasim from the Phaver Team.
However, it was a bit disappointing that Lens wasn't officially present at the conference. Maybe next year?
Thanks to everyone we connected with for making ETH Prague an unforgettable experience ♥
Streamm: Farcaster Video Client 🎥
At ETH Prague 2024, we had the pleasure of meeting Streamm, a Farcaster video client, and even went live on Farcaster to beta test this new app. Streamm hosted their launch party during the event, and it was a blast!

Trust Me Bro Spaces on Hold (for Now) ⏸
We're taking a quick break this week because ETH Prague side events are keeping us busy.
But fear not! We'll be back next week with a mind-blowing guest – someone who sees way beyond the Lens Protocol.
Any guesses who it could be? Let us know in the comments!
Beer Taste - Sol from Mexico 🇲🇽
Sunshine in a Bottle: Sol at ETH Prague 2024 ☀
Sol, the iconic Mexican lager brewed since 1899, was a welcome presence at the event.
This light-bodied lager, with its crisp, clean taste and beautiful golden color, perfectly captures the essence of Mexican sunshine.
A Story Steeped in Freedom 🇲🇽
Sol's history is intertwined with Mexico's fight for independence. Born in the late 19th century, the name itself is a nod to freedom, with "Sol" meaning sun.
Legend even has it that a ray of sunshine hitting the first batch of beer inspired the name! ☀
Light & Perfect for Sharing
With an alcohol content of 4.5%, Sol is all about easy drinking and good times with friends.
It's the perfect accompaniment to warm afternoons, rooftop gatherings, or (in this case) a break between tech talks at a major conference.
Did you try Sol at ETH Prague?
Let us know in the comments what you thought of this classic Mexican lager!
And that's it for this week 🎉
