Lens Network Hackathon 🚀
Alpha drop! Lens Protocol is organising the Holiday Hackathon this year, promising exciting times between Christmas and New Year’s!
Participants can build on the Lens Network and Family’s Connect Kit for a chance to win a share of around $40,000 in cash prizes.
How it Works 🤓
The hackathon runs from December 16th to January 7th, 2025, with judging taking place from January 8th to 12th.
Everything will happen on GitHub and judged by the Lens community and the Avara team using Jokerace, a contest protocol that allows communities to submit and vote on entries.
Why It Matters 🤔
This hackathon is a prime opportunity to build on the new Lens Network, improve your skills and.. bag some cash!
Here are some tips: social finance apps, meme-sharing platforms, AI Agents, feed curators or games that use social features.
Now is the time to make your mark on the future of the Lens Network!
How to Get Involved 🤗
A form for applications will be published next week. You can also tag Maria Paula on Lens feed for early access and/or shill your name to become a judge.

Snapchain: Farcaster Sync Revolution 🔗
Snapchain is a new blockchain-like system designed to sync your casts, reactions, and follows across apps more efficiently than current hub networks. It is nearing its alpha release, promising a significant upgrade in performance and reliability.
How It Works 🤓
Snapchain enhances speed by grouping transactions into blocks, allowing nodes to easily catch up on missed transactions.
This design eliminates delays and missed messages, while rate limits won't disrupt sync.
Sharding, inspired by NEAR's Nightshade, enables multiple machines to produce blocks simultaneously, targeting over 9,000 transactions per second to support 2 million+ daily users.
Why You Should Care 🤔
Snapchain promises a faster, more reliable experience for users, addressing common issues with current systems. With its alpha release expected later this year, it’s an exciting time to get involved in this innovative project.
