Calvin Limbong, AKA Bongdoe, is a 3D motion artist based in Indonesia, making NFT animated art with a cool neon aesthetic. With a penchant for purple, his gentle animations of trees blowing in the warm breeze soothe the viewer transporting us to another world of roof top patios, pool parties, riverside cafes, and push bikes. Like Late Night Pool Party which promises, “It's party time! We got girls! We got pool! We got wine! Everything!” After the party it's back to reality with Late Night Bus Stop, “It's getting late to get home and really cold here, I brought some food for my family at home, I smoke a cigarette while waiting for the next bus to arrive.” In contrast to the idyllic scenes, death is also a recurring theme with coffins and skulls in similar palates. Quirky details are sprinkled throughout, like vending machines dispensing items in a never-ending loop, electric fans casting moving shadows or games consoles adding further elements of fun to the chilled vibes.

Liffi Wongso is an Indonesian illustrator. She started her career illustrating her dreams expressing her vision with young maidens in nature settings. With a vibrant pallet of colours, her style is influenced by contemporary illustration and manga. Her art features squads of cool girls in the flush of youth painted in watercolour, green tea, ink and pixie dust. Like peering into a magic mirror, we peer through the keyhole and enter Wonderland with its sprinkling of sirens, fairies and mystical rare flowers. The dizzying animations alter the depth of the art zooming in and out to reveal further exquisite detail within the detail including mermaids, sylphs and other beauties to lighten your mood.

David Koblesky is an illustrator, motion graphics artist and writer from Chicago with a unique and visually arresting style. Sometimes figurative, sometimes abstract, sometimes glitchy, sometimes surreal, always with an eye toward beauty. The 3D geometry and moving lines in his art are an ongoing exploration of the boundary between abstraction and representation using motion and lines that transports the viewer, such as monochrome spirographs reminiscent of childhood doodlings. Gazing at his work, there is something deeply satisfying which draws the viewer in, hypnotised. Pre-pandemic artworks are optimistic, reminding us of public gatherings and people socialising at close quarters. Something we can never get back to. Taking inspiration from nature, his artworks tell the stories of wild horses and birds in flight, majestically floating through the air. The Covid Isolation Flower Series shows delicate flowers as they grow from scattered seeds into glorious blooms in an endless loop like the bulbs which appear as rays of hope each spring. These cheerful images are in contrast to the helplessness and despair of isolated figures in Metaphors, poignantly depicted in simple lines that resonate in all of us.

Desh is an Indonesian artist describing herself as a woman in a girl's body. Behind fun, vibrant images of poker faced girls sprinkled with animated stars and laser eyes, lurks deep emotion and the darker side of beauty. Stress, failure and the fear of being left behind. Like a human magnet attracting a knife, we torture ourselves to appear effortlessly beautiful in our desire to belong, rather than caring for our wellbeing. We face the envy of those who are not naturally beautiful, it destroys us. Stress is a part of life, even mild stress spurs us on to think faster and try harder to overcome the challenges of everyday life. Love is a humble addiction. We keep falling for each other because it's painfully sweet. True love is overwhelming and a thousand poems can't describe the feeling. Love hurts, but love is all that matters. When depression rears its head, savour the feeling with patience. Be grateful for what you have. You are what you are willing to do, and will get what you deserve based on your actions and sacrifices. Planning is a rebellious act to forge your destiny.

I have found a handful of artists that left me speechless. The first to do this was Alvaro Serpa. This artist from Brazil draws from sunsets or beautiful landscapes like they are from a spectacular movie (e.g. Golden Bridge, The Other Side) to everyday situations (e.g. The Rain, Fim da Tarde na Laje). His exceptional skills in combination with the sense of familiarity that the majority of the art makes you feel, leave you wondering if you have been there before or, in the case of Us and the Universe Above, makes you want to be there. - Canarycrypto
Each UNDRGRND DIGS will feature artists our curators have purchased for the UNDRGRND Collection. UNDRGRND will airdrop pieces from our collection to community members via giveaways.
