UNDRGRND DIGS is a periodical feature showcasing artists that the UNDRGRND curators dig. We sift through the social media and NFT platforms to find the best artists waiting to be discovered. UNDRGRND believes in the artists we feature and we will purchase NFTs from each artist featured. Purchases will be airdropped to reward UNDRGRND community members.

Do not glance… zoom in, observe, and enjoy the intricate details of his works up close. This doodle artist has been active since 2017, but his love of art traces back to an early age. Back then he had ambition to become a fine artist or a realistic artist. But now, it is doodle art that has become his signature and strength. Freedom of creation is the main reason why he falls in love with this type of art. One of the freedoms he can play with is coloring. Sometimes his works only consist of two colors while other works have quite a lot of color combinations. His doodles are mainly monster characters with various expressions, inspired and created from many things, from simple geometry to fictional characters in films or novels. As an admirer of detail, he makes sure all the characters are unique and counts the number of characters in each work. The more characters presented, the more detailed the story will be.

Through visual semiotics and narrative semiotics, Arya Wirawan tries to reinterpret Indonesian cultures amid modern society. This artist, who focuses in digital art and conventional painting, wants to create a new and more balanced life pattern, where people can continue to live modern lives without forgetting their cultural roots. Arya chooses to raise those themes in the form of folklore, mythology, and urban legends that developed closely in the community. And he chooses pop culture accents such as comic visualization from the late 1990s to 2000s, manga, tattoo designs, and decorative arts. Through his creative work, the artist wants to invite people to walk down a memory lane, with modern visualizations.

Adelia’s artworks tell stories of an introverted girl who loves pets. For her, only her pets are always there to accompany her. The artist loves to play with her imagination and always feels as if she has her own world. A world filled with calm vibes, with fruits representing the beautiful colors and flavors of her life. A story about the artist’s personality who was born in the year of the Rooster according to the Chinese Zodiac. Indukayam tries to tell stories about human life as well as environmental and social issues from a personal point of view, which are satirical sometimes. A chicken always tries to be independent and decides its own life choices but still holds the principles of discipline; consistency. This creature may not be the king of the jungle, but he always benefits humans. A chicken willingly accepts its destiny, with the end of its life being on a plate with rice and chili sauce, or a bowl of noodles. This is the philosophy the artist is trying to convey through his artworks.

From a man who is always astonished by God’s creations, each of his works is a form of infinite gratitude to God as the true creator of splendor. Among others are the ocean and everything in it. The underwater world is so vast and ever amazing. The shapes can never be predicted, the color combinations are so beautiful, as well as the functions and the ecosystems that work together in harmony. Turtles, as the marine guards, play an important role in the balance of coral, fish and plant ecosystems in the ocean. I try to combine several elements of its beauty into a complete and adoring form.
