5 Artists From the UNDRGRND Collection
UNDRGRND DIGS is a periodical feature showcasing artists that the UNDRGRND curators dig. We sift through the social media and NFT platforms to find the best artists waiting to be discovered. UNDRGRND believes in the artists we feature and we will purchase NFTs from each artist featured. Purchases will be airdropped to reward UNDRGRND community members.

IT'S MY TURN
Cybro-G captures the innocence of a child and pairs it with issues of adulthood in beautiful digital-watercolor gifs. Having a daughter will change every aspect of your life, including your art. While most of Cybro-G’s work contains robots and icons from their generation (Hulk Hogan, Boba Fett and Power Rangers), characters from their daughter’s world are now starting to make appearances (Mikey Mouse, Peppa Pig). While the influences of pop culture, sci-fi and technology on Cybro-G’s are apparent throughout his work, it’s clear nothing compares to his love for his daughter.

Tolgahan Bayhan combines an urban hip-hop style with the emotional self-awareness of a spiritual guru. From poor hip-hop head characters dedicated to their craft to pieces depicting deeply comp[lex emotions, Tolgahan uses his unique body shapes to create fluidity throughout his work as if each subject were set to music. His latest series, “postmodern trauma,” looks at the effect of technology on our self-worth and how it transforms our inner monologue, making self-love a complicated path of twist and turns his subject tied in a knot in the piece by the same name.

The vibrant color-infused motion of JollyRogerX’s work is impossible to ignore. Add in the fact that he sets most of his works to the music he creates, and you have art designed to showcase in an NFT digital frame. With so much going on in each piece, it would be easy to find something new each time you view it. JollyRogerX perfectly combines bright, nostalgic 90s colors with the mystical, playful, light-hearted innocence and even the overtly sexual.

An artist from Bali blending culture and contemporary visuals, Yoga.ysp uses incredible detail, motion and vibrant colors to create beautiful videos revolving around culturally significant stories and ideas. The garments, jewelry and headdresses are so intricate that they can probably only exist in this digital format. The theme throughout each work focuses on the depth of inner beauty, which makes the works that much more impactful with so many intricacies and emphasis on what the female subject wears to display to the outside world.

GAN will eventually become a new art form taught in art history classes in the future and used as the symbolic style for the technological revolution occurring in crypto and NFTs today. The balance between artificial intelligence and the curation of the artist blurs the line and definitions of what art can be and will become. The problem currently seems to be a lack of experts to discern between great GAN art and a filter on your phone. But spend enough time searching for the gems, and you will begin to become an expert yourself in this new genre. You’ll see that there are artists with a command of artificial intelligence that would make any individual paranoid of a future where machines rule humans feel at ease because these artists are still in control, bending the machines to their will. Jerome Herr’s mastery of GAN is evident throughout all his work. He commands AI to create bizarre images that are unsettling and strange, much like Tim Burton or Ralph Steadman’s Art. Jerome introduces himself on Versum, saying, “Code weaver since 2015 * NFT collector since 2021 * AI artist since 2022”. If this is the beginning of his journey as an AI artist, where will he be in a few years?
Each UNDRGRND DIGS will feature artists our curators have purchased for the UNDRGRND Collection. UNDRGRND will airdrop pieces from our collection to community members via giveaways.
