What will you find when you reach the bottom?

Our social media lives have predisposed all our interactions with “positive vibes only” cliches. We forget that to have balance, both sides need to be equal. The key to true happiness is to understand true sadness. Not rejecting one but accepting both.

This is the motivating factor behind Underscore’s art.

“I use emotion as a core to everything I create,” they say, “Before becoming an artist I struggled with the hardest period of my life. Since I have now overcome that period I can look back and pull emotions from that time, this allows me to process and understand why I felt that way and that is what I do when I create. Creation for me is a process of self-understanding and self-growth where I can truly explore who I am, what I feel, and why I am the way I am.”

For a young artist, only 22, this perspective carries the wisdom of someone much older. But after struggling before entering the crypto art world, Underscore has found themself able to build themselves back up through an outpouring of love.

“The first pieces I ever drew based on the concept of underscore, [were] an emotionless being living in an abyss full of darkness and pain. The contradiction is obvious…my motivation is solely based on love. The evolution from august to now has been incredible. I give the credit to my evolution to again all the love shared since I started this journey with all of my friends.”

We see often love begets more love. We’ve created a global positive feedback loop within our community. And, because of the maturity and perspective of this young growing artist, the love they have felt will come back tenfold to everyone who has supported them.

“I plan on doing this for the rest of my life,” Underscore says, “I have contemplated doing physical work, but the more I thought about the concept the more I want to simply create digitally. I like the concept of the existing art world having to adapt to this space we have all created rather than the other way around. My long-term goal is to touch as many hearts as I can with my work.”

“I live to love and to spread love.”

Underscore touched the bottom of their heart and in their darkest moments found enough love and emotion to fuel their artistic future.

It’s time for the traditional art world to adapt, just like Underscore.
