Trust, Truth, and Our Belief Worlds

Chapter #12- Takes 2 minutes to read.

As kids, we have had an opportunity to play with bubble makers. We created so many bubbles, both big and small. Most of the time, we would try and make giant bubbles so that they could float longer than the smaller bubbles. We would focus all our energies on creating bigger and bigger bubbles. Sometimes, we would compete and challenge our friends and siblings to make giant bubbles.

The nature of the bubble is to live its glory and give us temporary joy and satisfaction before it gets busted and dies down.

Did we ever feel sadness, anxiety, anger, confusion, shock, and frustration because the bubble got busted? Perhaps, we might have felt a little disheartened by the wasted effort but never any of the strong negative feelings.

Similarly, the world of "beliefs" are like these bubbles; each bubble is the "belief world", which we create all the time. Massively giant bubbles are the collective beliefs of many people and the ones we have nurtured over time. Only if we can see them as bubbles can we easily move in and out of the belief systems of our creation as well as the creations of others.

Some common examples of a massively big bubble are beliefs around the economics of a country and an organization and beliefs around culture. Do you see how we have made it our own? In other words, we have identified ourselves with them for so long that we have forgotten it is a bubble.

Remember, the example above shouldn't make you conclude. These bubbles are neither good, bad, or ugly; they are just bubbles; becoming aware of this is when freedom starts to dawn on us.

Most people create these bubbles and invite us into them so that they can grow big. And they can derive a sense of joy and satisfaction from influencing large groups of individuals, but often, the creator gets entangled in them, forgetting it's a bubble and getting attached to and identified by it. They might also employ extreme actions to protect this bubble from going bust.

Do you see how the karma of an individual is playing out in this example above?

When we can freely travel into these belief worlds of our own and others, experience them, and come out of them willingly without getting stuck. Only then can we acknowledge and appreciate them without getting entangled.

And since we don't see it this way, we get identified, attached, and trapped in certain belief systems of our creation and others. And once we get entangled in them, we try to start disbelieving the existence of other people's bubbles without realizing we are in a bubble ourselves.

Our mind starts a war within ourselves between truth and falsehood, as well as between trust and mistrust. When we start to see these bubbles for what they are, it becomes clear they can not define
WHO WE REALLY ARE.
