Upcoming playtests preview, Slot from Cartridge, Curio officially releases Keystone, and more

  • Upcoming playtests preview: Cambira, Gaul and PixelLAW

Cambira is a PvP fully on-chain game that allows players to engage in high-stakes 1v1 duels in a public arena. In these duels, players can wager any combination of ETH, tokens, NFTs, etc. The participants then battle each other until one is defeated, the winner can claim the entire wager as the prize. here’s some invite code if you want to try it here.

Gaul is a multiplayer Sokoban game developed by Small Brain Games. It allows multiple players to play cooperatively or competitively to solve puzzles. The developers have also conducted the first live demo with the community. For more updates about the game, you can join their Discord server.

PixeLAW is an interoperable game that allows everyone to create interesting experiences by combining four games: Paint, Snake, Rock Paper Scissors, and Pac-Man. They have announced that play testing will be coming soon.

  • Loot Survivor is live on Starknet mainnet

Loot Survivor is a fully on-chain strategy game. The objective is to level up and keep your Adventurers alive by exploring maps and defeating monsters, gaining gold, health, and experience. Each level up enhances an Adventurer's stats and unlocks new weapons and armor, which are essential for maximizing damage and minimizing damage taken.

Currently, the game costs $5-10 to create an Arcade Account and top up $ETH and $LORD to play one game, but the gas cost will be reduced by 10x-100x when EIP4844 is implemented. However, you can still play the game for free by using their Golden gold token.

  • Paima Studios introduced NFT Projection

NFT Projection from Paima Studio offers a seamless, cross-chain function that allows the use of NFTs across different blockchains without the need for bridging. For example, a project could introduce an NFT collection on Ethereum while launching their game on Cardano. Users simply need to verify the ownership of their NFTs on Ethereum Layer 1 to participate in the game, while maintaining full control and the ability to unlock them at any time. This feature for Paima engine is scheduled for release in Q1 2024.

  • Curio released Keystone

Keystone from Curio is an SDK used for building on-chain games. Game logic in Keystone is written in Go, which enables fast-paced game tick processing and can handle tens of thousands of transactions per second. Keystone also provides state sync management, allowing for direct querying and subscribing to data streams from Keystone. Additionally, it supports plugins that leverage existing mature toolchains and ecosystems for games.

  • Introducing Drawtech

Drawtech is a PWA (Progressive Web App) mobile game developed by Small Brain Games that operates fully on-chain. It is live on the Base mainnet and features a 35x35 tile canvas that can expand infinitely. In this game, players assume the role of artists and color the tiles by paying with $ETH. The cost of each tile is dynamic and varies based on its popularity. When other players purchase tiles, the $ETH is redistributed back to the artists in proportion to the number of tiles they own. Additionally, players can steal tiles by drawing over someone else's work.

  • BibliothecaDAO's BIP-15 - Expansion of Frontinus result

The Frontinus House process is a funding mechanism that utilizes DAO assets to attract talented builders and incentivize building within BibliothecaDAO and its current ecosystem. The top 3 winners include:

  • ReviloTC - Stolsi: a tile-based board game inspired by Carcassonne with added depth of factional alignment and character-based play.

  • Mississippi: a fully on-chain PVP rogue-like game with customizable gameplay.

  • Starkland: a simulation and strategy game where players can build their own world using diverse resources. They can explore their world and also invade other worlds.
