The Soul-Stirring Reflection
Life has many magical moments that one must experience to truly understand the wonder of human existence. The feeling is like falling into a different dimension, quite surreal.
And there's a particularly interesting moment when you're at the peak of your life, with wealth, abundance, and fame, and suddenly you lose everything, and everything returns to zero. Imagine being rich but then falling so low that even eating a bowl of pho or bun rieu becomes a luxury.
In the story of the God of Food, I think the best scene is when he's defeated and ends up begging in the market, but even begging doesn't work, and he gets beaten up and lies there flat. Then, a fan girl gives him a bowl of char siu rice, which becomes the most delicious bowl of rice he's ever had. Anyone who has experienced such a situation would find that scene very touching (sigh).
I wrote this post because I just finished a bowl of rice that looked similar, and suddenly I felt the urge to tell the friends reading this page that life can sometimes lead people into very painful situations. A little bit of kindness, tolerance, and generosity from you might save a life. So, if you can, be tolerant, generous, and kind, even if it's just a little. A bowl of rice, a bowl of noodles, or a bowl of pho might not be special then. But the emotions and feelings at that moment are something very... (indescribable).
If we ever fall on hard times, maybe the heavens will be tolerant, generous, and kind to us. Who knows.
