Beta Version Custom Gas Token Feature is live for the OP Stack

When deploying a L2 and L3 Chain, chain operators can enable this feature and launch with an ERC20 token instead of ETH for gas fees. With this feature, projects can “enhance the utility of their existing tokens either by deploying a chain with their own token as the gas token or by deploying a chain with an established community token as the gas token, thus boosting their chain’s growth.”

Deadline: June 5th

Retro Funding: Impact Metrics a Collective Experiment

Retro Funding 4 rewards impact by using metrics-based evaluation. In this post, Optimism outlines the process to define and refine metrics that measure various types of impact, ensuring that the metrics are robust, verifiable, and align with the community’s values.

Badgeholders will test the refined metrics during the week of June 3rd through a simulated interface, providing additional feedback. This will culminate in a final session to discuss and decide on the metrics to be used in the upcoming round.
