This article describes my musical journey into Web3 and the story behind the creation of my independent record label.
El Treinta y Tres
The process of looking for a space where my music could ¨fit in¨ brought insecurity into my creative process. I got tired of waiting for labels to sign my music, it started to condition me somehow. It drained a lot of time, energy and value from my creations.
So, I decided to create my own label, El Treinta y Tres. Coming from a couple years of experience with the co-founding of Port 81 Records, Colombian label in which I grew immensely in so many aspects. I found myself with enough confidence and knowledge to start my own independent imprint.
As for the cover art, I love photography and fortunately, I found the confidence needed and a place for my photos to be shared. This particular shot represents Illusion, how some situations in our lives can become a blessing or a nightmare depending on our level of consciousness. The capture was made after a quick getaway with my best friend to Lago Calima. Made a little stop on our way back home to contemplate the sunset and this rainbow. A couple of months later, I found it perfect for this release.
Web3 and Crypto
I got into crypto when the first De-fi summer on 2020 emerged. I talked to some of my colleagues about it, and helped them set up their wallets and buying their first cryptos. Later on, we would just come together to hunt those ¨gems¨ and that’s how I first came to hear about Audius. Invested in the project immediately and also uploaded part of our discography and some of my releases on other labels to the platform. I knew projects like this were a huge paradigm shift for the music industry and I needed to be a part of these initiatives.
Back then there weren’t as many music projects as today, the space was grown so much, is amazing!
I’m grateful, via Mintsongs, I had the opportunity to share my music in Web3. A place where I’ve met really friendly people, a strong community with amazing talented artists they helped to enter the space.
I’m was thrilled to be a part of this, not only as a collector but now as an artist too. Big shout out to everyone involved in this project, thank you guys for putting so much work and love to make this possible and for contributing to the restoration of the TRUE value of music.
Proudly and humbled to say I was fully responsible for everything involved in my label. From logo designs, photography, cover art, to mixing, mastering, distribution, marketing, etc. The sense of freedom I gained from this, translated congruently to a new artistic expression.
17 + years of experience in the music industry brought me so many positive outcomes but also triggered a rooted wound of self-esteem and frustration that I wasn’t even aware of. But, fortunately, the unconditional love God has shown me, has been kindly guiding me into a deep healing process and renews me daily.
Ambitious Mirage marks the birth of the label and the start of the most significant time of my life. A 432 Hz tuned soundtrack to the strong battle we fight with the misconceived perception we have of ourselves and the world around us.
Happy to say that 5 editions of this piece have been sold already. The most important part of this is the people I’ve met and the relationships that I have started with the supporters of my work.
Music NFTs This is my genesis mint, and as far as the utility of this NFT, owners will have access to:
1 — Full Quality Wav file of the song
2- Access to an Unreleased DJ Set
3 — Eligible for a Giveaway of my next mint
The most valuable aspect of a Music NFTs experience for sure, is understanding that is not about the money, not about the sales or exposure, is about restoring the REAL value of music through the shift of a relationship paradigm between the artist and everyone involved in the creative process.
