Greetings friends, February flew by fast with the Chinese New Year holidays. I've been back in Hong Kong for a couple of weeks and the pace of development in both web3 and generative AI technologies is relentless
This is going to be the second post to be sent via Paragraph and so far from what little I've learned about its features I like it. The previous newsletter had an open rate of 61% (I hope that the remaining 39% can check their spam filters 🙏 ). There were 3 unsubscribes and this calls for the following response 😄
Many in the Ethereum community and in particular those who are building on rollups are looking forward to the Dencun network upgrade going live on the Ethereum mainnet on March 13th, 2024 at 13:55 UTC
Various rollups have announced aggressive timelines for them to incorporate support for ERC-4844 thereby lowering transaction costs on their respective L2's
A number of the rollups have stated they would be ready on day 1 so users on those rollups can anticipate lower transaction fees shortly after
Pertaining to these rollups, there are links to various tweets including from Jesse Pollak of BASE if you want to be aware of when a certain rollup is likely to support blobs via ERC-4844

Account Abstraction material was within the Ethereum sub-page. Given that its usage is increasing a lot more via rollups. I moved it to its own sub-page
The jury is still out on which standard will get traction within Modular Smart Accounts and I've just started reading and curating material on both ERC-7579 as well as ERC-6900
The experimental ERC-404 token standard combines elements of fungible and non-fungible tokens into a single "semi-fungible" digital asset.
I have a backlog of material related to Sui which I've just clipped to a 'To-Read' database via Notion's web clipper. I did however put in a link to a recent dev newsletter from Sui
The folks at Alchemy have requested their own sub-page and are adding content to that sub-page
Whilst the community on the Generative AI Telegram group is growing (it's now close to 600 members) and I'm pleased to see more members besides myself posting and commenting, I've not been able to spare time for deeper dives into topics that would require updating the Generative AI Notion pages and sub-pages. As Max Levchin formerly of Paypal wrote on X recently
Just keeping up with product, technical, and science developments in AI is rapidly becoming a full time job. There are economies of scale in being able to grasp the technical and science ideas quicker after you get through first few, but the pace of innovation is unlike anything.
