We introduced a new feature for popup cities that allows funding multiple causes with just one lotto!

5. Zuland: Empowering Communities with Autonomous Social Network

Zuland, built by AKASHA core and Builders’ Garden will be a private, token-gated, decentralized social network where only users with specific credentials can read and write content (e.g. only people attending ZuGeorgia can access and interact with the contents posted on Zuland).

  • Ownership and Moderation: Zuland puts the power back in the hands of the community. The platform ensures that data ownership and moderation are handled by the communities themselves, giving them full authority over how they operate. Users can even choose where they want to host their community interactions—the flexibility and control are completely in their hands.

  • Designed for Builders and Creators:  Zuland has been developed with a special emphasis on creators and community builders. With the combined power of Ceramic and Akasha core, this platform offers tools that can easily plug into other systems, allowing communities to stay connected wherever they choose.

  • On the Frontend: Zuland decided to extend Zucity rather than create a new app. The discussion section and comment module are in place, and the next step is integrating post-creation and preview before connecting the frontend to the backend.

  • A custom SDK for Zuland: Develop a lightweight version that allows developers to integrate Akasha social infrastructure into Zuzalu.city, possibly using Akasha’s ComposeDB SDK, A Ceramic node, and Lit protocol for encryption and decryption.

7. ZuVillage Georgia: Innovating with community-driven projects

ZuVillage Georgia gave the retro of the integration of several unique decentralized tools that support growth, engagement, and sustainability.

  • Zuzalu.city, Civilizational Operating System: Zuzalu.city is a platform for community innovation, interoperability, and forking. It offers open-source tools that make community scheduling and participation permissionless. Features like gated digital & physical infrastructure using ZK-NFTs, user-owned data, and immutable contributions are pushing forward the concept of a civilizational operating system, aiming for full community empowerment.

  • Scrollpass, Zero-Knowledge NFT Passport: Scrollpass is a zero-knowledge NFT passport  and users can pay their contributions and mint ZK-NFTs directly on Zuzalu.city, which serves as a Passport for accessing both digital and physical infrastructure. This innovative approach ensures user privacy while allowing permissioned participation, all powered by client-side proofs.

  • Blockful, On-Chain Attestations for Contributions: Blockful is being used to provide on-chain badge attestations for community contributions. Whether it's a badge for "Change My Mind" or "Disagreed with On-Stage Speaker," Blockful captures and represents contributions transparently. It’s also tracking time spent physically at experiments, ensuring that member contributions are acknowledged and valued.

  • LottoPGF, On-Chain Lotteries for Public Goods Funding: With LottoPGF, attendees have the opportunity to fund projects they care about through on-chain lotteries. Daily and special event lotteries allow attendees to make meaningful contributions, and features like ticket sales for Zuzalu.city events with lotteries make community engagement more interactive and fun. Notably, the Zuvillage kitten has become the most funded cause, showcasing the playful yet impactful nature of LottoPGF.
