A Short Conversation With Enki40.eth
ANGEL DEICIDE

What first drew you to digital art, and how did that evolve into working within the web3 creator space? "I have been involved with digital manipulation for as long as I can remember; having trained as a film director, cameraman, and video editor. In 2021 I discovered Bitcoin and consequently delved into this new crypto world until I came to Ethereum and learned about NFTs. With the need to produce and publish something independent, I decided to embrace the philosophy and effectiveness of web3 .

Strava's global cycling heatmap

Yesterday morning I went cycling in High Park to try and condition myself for the Bike for Brain Health ride that I have coming up. The Park is such an incredible amenity and I love being so close to it. Of course, before I set out, I naturally turned on my Apple Watch and Garmin computer so that I could track it all in Strava. This has become such a big part of cycling (and working out in general). We're all data obsessed. Everyone wants to track their route, their speed, their heart rate, a...

Exploring arcade rhythm games
LittleBit
May 18
Hey everyone, Bit here. I’ve been into rhythm games a lot recently, mostly Project Sekai, otherwise known as Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage outside of Japan (although many Americans including me still call it Project Sekai). I’ve gotten good enough at the game that I can get an all perfect play on some mid-level Expert charts, with my highest-level AP being “Beyond the way” [Expert 25]. The thing that got me back into rhythm games after a while of not playing osu! was some videos on YouTube abo...

Before drag-and-drop design, Sears built catalogs with care, creativity, and clusters of joy. This post explores how vintage mail-order catalogs used human-centered layouts—and why today’s ecommerce feels so flat in comparison. Discover what the retail moguls of the 1900s got right.
The Road Beyond Rejection Winds Through the Wilderness of What Might Be
Pioneering Spirit

Marginal Revolution, a frequent stopping ground in my internet tendency, linked to a David Brooks article on the "most rejected generation." I am a bit further removed from the college application and early career establish-yourself-in-the-world hustle though do remember that grind very well. I remember reading William Deresiewicz's works on how elite highly selective culture trains "excellent sheep" and wrote a piece for my college newspaper on "the temptations of gamespace" which seems to h...
