Launching Nov. 22 -- Matt DesLauriers' new project, 'Bitframes', is an open source generative artwork and blockchain-based crowdfund inspired by punched cards and the mainframe computing era.
The open edition sale and film crowdfund starts Friday, November 22, 2024, and runs until December 20, 2024. The release will help raise funds for the production of a feature-length documentary film, Generative, providing historical context to generative art.
DesLauriers spoke to Peter Bauman (Monk Antony) about both projects. They also cover the co-creative possibilities of generativity that the projects reveal, as well as how to bridge public understanding and institutional recognition of the art form.
Released in conjunction with the 'INTERLACE' exhibition at Galerie Data (Paris), Marc Maurer's latest project -- 'Glance' -- explores the tension between modern life and the natural world, reflecting on how digital oversaturation and consumerism have disconnected us from authentic experiences.

'CYMATIC: Patterns of the Pentatonic' by Erika Weitz and Thomas Noya builds upon three centuries of technological innovation and image-making. Bridging between wet plate collodion photography—one of the earliest photographic processes of the 19th century—and generative art, it resumes an ongoing dialogue that unites the digital and the analogue.
'REIMAGINE TOMORROW, 1954–2024: AI IN CONTEXT #2', presented by Expanded.Art and curated by @postanika in Essen, Germany, during the AI Biennale, from 17 to 24 November.
The exhibition brings over 50 international artists along with platforms and galleries from around the world.
I'm pleasantly surprised with the amazing quality of each issue... truly. In this issue, I particularly vibed with 'the HODLers Tarot'. Thank you for curating such thoughtful pieces each time, it's greatly appreciated.
