Coop Records | Coop Records Weekly - Our first songcoins $IJN and $DAYS

In case you missed it - we recently debuted a new product to be early to your favorite songs as our way of pioneering a new "songcoin" meta that turns records in our catalog into tokens.

We started with I Just Need ($IJN) by Daniel Allan and Lyrah last week and followed up with the #1 viral song in the US right via NOTION's remix of The Days ($DAYS).

Having songcoins in the market puts us in a really intersting position for our business model at cooprecords.xyz

In short - Coop Records primary source of revenue for our artists is monetizing open edition mints through the use of campaigns and onchain ads on Boost and Layer3.

Historically - the nearly $750k of volume that's gone into these campaigns has flowed through tokens like DEGEN, HIGHER, CLANKER and KEYCAT.

But what if all of that volume started flowing through our own tokens instead?

There's still a lot to be fleshed out here but this feels like a major turning point for the Coop Records model and something really worth doubling down on here.

And what better way to test it than through new projects from LP Giobbi and Daniel Allan.

What we're starting to do is give people songcoins as rewards for collecting songs on Coop Records. Sounds pretty straight forward but we believe this boostrapping method for distribution and driving onchain revenue is something that makes Coop Records very unique relative to every token launcher in the world today.

We're not launching songcoins from any old song - we're being extremely selective to deploy songs with very high virality and attention to try and cut through the noise.

There's still a ton to learn but as we cross another week of 20+ releases (a new weekly high for us for the second time in a row) - keep a close eye on the convos in our Discord.

In many ways - 2024 was about testing all the pieces before opening up the bottom of funnel public convo for our community.

Now that space exists - and we want your feedback on what would make you most excited to be early to the songcoins on cooprecs.fun.
