Enjoy Weekly #14

Initially, I hoped to use this intro to announce an update to our site, but that's still a few days away. Then I thought about dumping thoughts about tipping tokens, creator tools, "free" mints, the crypto market, social media, or one of the other 49 other things swirling around in my exploded brain. But truly, a lot of these topics are colored negatively at the moment, and my assumption is that you all feel similar vibes in your instances of the metaverse.

So, for the sake of keeping this coherent, concise, and enjoyable, I'll provide a brief anecdote that points to the aspirational vision for Enjoy:

While reviewing the prototype for the upcoming site update with a fellow enjoyoor, he asked: how much is that tip worth anyway? Given the current price of $Enjoy, I was prepared to respond rather unenjoyably. Instead, enjoyment and hope were found. The tip in question, 235,847 $Enjoy, turned out to be worth around $4.50. This is more than the cost of the mint itself, and is even more enjoyable in a world where $enjoy is worth more than its current price. I've been so focused on accumulating $Enjoy without the intent to sell, so I don't look at the USD value of what I'm earning. This was a nice reminder that the tipping mechanism is valuable.

Enabling and incentivizing new curatorial behaviors is exciting, especially if they result in distribution and earnings for creatoors (sorry not sorry). A flywheel of creation and curation is possible, and we're building toward it. Plenty more to come on what we're cooking in the coming weeks.

I had the honor of joining Nicky and several artists I admire on his weekly twitter space this past Wednesday. We discussed the potential impact of Zora's protocol upgrade, digital scarcity, and the general state of nft art platforms. It was very enjoyable, and I suggest a listen. Recording linked in the tweet:

Ben wrote one of the more thoughtful, less virulent reactions to the OpenSea Well's notice:

I don't have to conduct user research anymore thanks to Ted:

elle wrote a nice review of Kiosk, which I'm eager to enjoy once I get an iphone:

Yes, I did try to arrange these by color. Sue me:

!!! Airdrop 2 Season 3 is over, and claims are live on enjoy.tech. Please note, the Zora protocol upgrade resulted in data discrepancies on Base network tokens, so some of you are missing earnings. We're working on a fix and will extend the claim period to a date tbd. Stay tuned to /enjoy-updates or X for updates.

Season 4 is live, and the earning window is open until October 07!!!

Until next week!!!
