On September 18th, we have the opportunity to showcase the collective strength of the Ethereum community by hosting simultaneous screenings of Vitalik: An Ethereum Story worldwide. By hosting a local premiere in your city, you'll play a crucial role in creating a global, community-driven event and help make this decentralized film premiere a reality in every corner of the world.
If you live in the US, Canada, Australia or the UK we will have premieres in over 65 theaters that you'll be able to see on our website on Friday, July 26th. Right now, we are focused on connecting with hosts outside of these four countries.
How to Host a Community or Corporate Screening (No Tickets)
As a host your responsibility includes:
Securing the venue
Covering the "print control" fee (admin, tech support & delivery cost) - $200
Covering the film buyout fee (community screening $500, corporate screening $3,000)
Promoting the event to your community
Gathr will deliver the film to you anywhere in the world via an encrypted movie player that protects the film from piracy. You will also be able to collect RSVPs via Gathr’s platform and promote on our website EthereumFilm.xyz.
The film is available in English. We will be taking requests for other languages on a case-by-case basis. Please email Optimist@Gathr.com if you want to request a language before moving forward.
If the fees are prohibitive we may be able to provide scholarship assistance. Please reach out to us at Optimist@Gathr.com.

Find a local theater or public event space that can host a film screening on Sept 18th. We will deliver the film digitally to you or a theater anywhere. You will be responsible for the costs of any venue rentals. Please ask for the cost of the venue rental and the capacity of the space.

Please wait until our team confirms your screening and sends next steps before making any changes. We will quickly be in touch so that you can start promoting your event. If your event is public it will also show up on our website EthereumFilm.xyz for people to rsvp.
How to Host a Ticketed Screening
As a host your responsibility includes:
Securing the venue
Covering the "print control" fee (admin, tech support & delivery cost) - $200
Covering the film fee - $500
Promoting the event to your community
In return, you’ll get 100% of the ticket sales. We’re partnering with theatrical distributor, Gathr, and their “Events on Demand” tool to ensure your event only proceeds once enough tickets are sold and ensures you won't be left covering the cost of print control and venue out of pocket.
Additionally, Gathr will equip you with a ticketing tool so that you can get paid and so that we can promote your premiere on our website EthereumFilm.xyz.

Step 3: click “paid tickets” and “Events on Demand”. Gathr’s “Events on Demand” tool makes sure that the event only goes ahead when enough tickets are sold so there is no risk that you’ll be left covering the cost of the film delivery and venue.
Step 4: the start and end date should be Sept 18th. We recommend a 7pm to 9pm timing so that you can show the film and show the Q&A.
Step 5: enter a minimum guarantee of the cost of the venue plus $200 which is the fee for "print control" plus $500 which is the film fee. We recommend you put a deadline of August 18th for your minimum guarantee to be reached. This will give you enough time to pay your venue one month in advance. If your venue does not need advance notice, you can move your deadline to August 30th.
