Change of season

Includes: Photos from life lately, reflections on sharing creative work, a trip to San Francisco, Christmas shopping

Autumn has turned into winter here in New England. This time of year I especially love drinking my morning coffee outside on the porch step while the air is still frosty - it's my favorite time of day.

On sharing writing

Creatively, it feels like I’m in a change of season. After two years of writing, rewriting, and editing a novel, I'm starting to share my writing with more and more people. Sharing something I’ve created is always such a vulnerable process, whether it be a series of photos, a vlog, an episode of Galazio Kitchen, or chapters of my manuscript.

There is a really special joy in sharing a project I've been working on for years. The feedback I've received from readers has been transformative for my writing. This coming season will be a time of growth as I push myself to improve as a storyteller. It’s scary and exhilarating at the same time. :)

West coast travels

A quick trip to San Francisco to attend my college friend's wedding

Journaling while waiting to board the plane

Remembering when I worked in downtown San Francisco. I used to commute on the Muni Metro train most days while listening to audio books or podcasts.

Morning coffee and journaling in the hotel room

A delicious bagel sandwich for lunch at Black Diamond Cafe

The most beautiful sunset on the flight home

A very quick stop in NYC before heading home. This is a latte that my friend made me 😀

Some Christmas shopping

The holiday collection at Target this year includes some really beautiful pieces.

Loved these mugs!

I decided to bring home the mugs and a very cozy snowflake pillow for my reading chair. I try not to buy too many items that are holiday specific, as I prefer season specific items I will use for a longer portion of the year. These mugs felt special to me, so I decided to purchase them anyway 🎄

More photos from life lately

Chili cooking on the stovetop

I used apples that we picked at an orchard recently to make single serving apple crumbles. I seasoned them with pumpkin pie spice and they were so delicious!

Baking lots of pumpkin bread

I also made some rice pudding 🙂 I love putting extra cinnamon on top of mine.

Cranberries are back in stock at the grocery store :)

Thank you for reading :)
