I just landed in Spain a few hours ago after an incredible trip to Venice, Italy. My body is about to collapse after three days packed with art, friends, inspiring conversations, and witnessing 'The Finale'βa culmination of a three-year journey in art and tech called Bright Moments. Despite the fatigue, Iβm so energized that I couldnβt wait to share these hidden gems.
If youβre new here, 'hidden gems' is where I share a weekly curation of art, products, events, and whatever else caught my eye in the onchain world.
I've got to go with Piter Pasma's Bright Moments Finale collection.
I was lucky to mint this piece, which prompted the question by those watching: is this AI? No, it is Piter Pasma.
Known for his wizardry with code, Piter not only excels in technical skills but also creates some of the most mesmerizing generative art. His work is notable for maintaining a clean, optimized, and concise code base.
Some of Piter's most interesting collections are Skulptuur on Art Blocks Curated, Universal Rayhatcher (6942 characters of highly experimental code), and Industrial Devolution on fxhash.
This newsletter issue is sponsored by 8NAP.art, who just released their first generative art collection in collaboration with Rich Poole and The Paper Crane -IsoMetro.
This project builds on Rich and Rick's Acequia collaboration, which is one of my favorite projects on fxhash.
Release day: Today, Tuesday 23rd.
Allowlist Mint Price (1 pm EST): 0.15 ETH.
Public Mint Price (5 pm EST): 0.17 ETH.
Last week, I released a podcast episode covering the Bright Moments Finale. After a three-year-long journey, Seth joined the show to share his experience, traveling the world, collaborating with over 100 digital artists, and making The Finale in Venice, Italy.
You can collect this podcast episode via pods.media here.
In parallel to Bright Moments, the opening of the Venice Biennale also took place. This iconic cultural exhibition has been held annually in Venice, Italy, since 1895, making it the oldest of its kind.
I had the opportunity to wander through this year's exhibition, which was themed 'Foreigners Everywhere.' One in particular has lingered in my mind: 'Aguacero' by Colombian artist Daniel Otero Torres.
During the trip, I met Aventurine, the community lead for the innovative fashion brand 9dcc, founded by the entrepreneur known as gmoney. He shared insights into the cutting-edge technology they've woven into their clothing line. This includes the use of NFTs, which not only authenticate each piece but also accrue on-chain points with every purchase.
Until next time,
- Kaloh
