Our Devconflict writing contest has ended.
The writers shared their opinions about the subjects, such as Liquid vs. Vanilla staking, Onboarding 1B vs. 1M users, Gnosis as L1 vs. L2, and Ossification vs. Agility.
In total, we received 12 submissions, and you can read some of the most interesting quotes here. The essays competed for the $1,500 (xDAI) prize pool, and here are the final results.
Winners of the Devconflict contest
You can find below the essays that won the prizes.
The prizes are divided as follows:
1st Place: 750 xDAI
2nd Place: 525 xDAI
3rd Place: 225 xDAI
Since five posts reached the #4 spot with an equal amount of upvotes from eligible voters, we split the 3rd place prize equally among these authors.

[$] 2nd place: “Stability-Transformation; Ossification-Agility. Ethereum's Dilemma"
by papajams.eth (5 upvotes)
Papajams shows that Bitcoin’s conservative, ossified design fosters trust but limits innovation. Ethereum seeks a middle path that balances security and adaptability through Layer 2 experimentation and carefully measured upgrades. This tension underscores a broader question: how blockchain ecosystems can remain reflexive and future-proof in the face of technological uncertainty.
Prize won: 525 xDAI
[$] 1st place: “Onboarding the next billion vs the next million debate”
by abhijithg (9 upvotes)
Abhijthg shows how focusing on attracting the next billion users often leads to superficial adoption without long-term engagement, as seen with Clubhouse and Telegram’s wallet. He argues that the path of carefully serving the next 1 million users encourages deeper involvement, user-driven feedback loops, and sustained community growth.
Prize won: 750 xDAI
