Dear crypto writers,
Our last contest with Lens turned out great, and we come back with the second edition!
As last time, it will be organized by:
- Kiwi, an app curating top content about crypto tech, products & culture
- t2, an app for writers to find, build, and grow their community,
- Lens, a decentralized protocol for building social applications.
The writers will be able to win 1,200 in USDC prizes and receive distribution from the Kiwi, t2 & Lens communities.
To participate, writers just need to submit their posts to the t2 and Kiwi apps (more on this below)
How does it work
The contest starts on the 2nd of September and ends on the 20th of September.
The contest is called “Pluralistic Future of L2s” and is inspired by Vitalik’s essay:
Layer 2s as cultural extensions of Ethereum.
Here’s how you can take part in it:
Write a post related to the main thoughts from Vitalik’s essay about L2s.
The prompts for the track are:
What most people should understand about L2s?
Are L2s a part of Ethereum?
What are the biggest differences between the existing L2 cultures?
What risks do you think that having a proliferation of L2s can bring?
What benefits could purpose-built L2s provide?
What fresh or even crazy ideas should L2s explore?
What governance experiments could L2s perform?
What apps should we see on different L2s?
And a special Vitalik's prompt:
What are specific things that L2s can do to make their relationship between each other and with L1 more collaborative, and maximize positive sum games?
You can choose one or more than one of these prompts to write your essay exploring this subject. You can also ignore prompts altogether and choose your own angle.
Add a line about your post taking part in the contest.

Summary
The future of Ethereum relies on L2s.
Although they’ve been around for some time, there are still many misconceptions and unexplored ideas around them. This is why we invite you to think through this subject so that we - as a community - get more clarity in that area.
We hope to get some fresh ideas and give writers access to some well-educated crypto audiences. We think it’s a good win-win opportunity for writers - even if they don’t win the money, they can win some attention and new subscribers.
If you have any questions, feel free to DM @macbudkowski on Telegram.
PS: We want the best posts to win. So, if we see any attempts to game the contest, e.g., by creating multiple accounts to upvote a particular post, we reserve the right to modify how we determine the winner.
PS2: While we love people to experiment with technology, we also love to value your own ideas. To this end, writers using AI for research are welcomed - however, you should be able to write a full text and not a prompt. Texts suspicious of being fully AI will be checked thoroughly - do not risk disqualification!
Using AI to translate essays into English (if English is not your native tongue) is accepted.
