What is the verifiable web and what will it look like? Here, we explore web proofs (aka “zkTLS”) and its use cases. Web proofs enable cryptographic verification of data authenticity and provenance over HTTPS without requiring cooperation from centralized platforms. Zero-knowledge proofs augment web proofs with selective disclosure and privacy. We highlight diverse use cases for web proofs across four key areas: credentials, data integrity, data portability, and data monetization.
