MVP Phase
Needs to be live before Feb 26
1000+ $lum in grants
The purpose of the idea phase was giving anyone a chance to put some ideas out there, and gather signal around what ideas $lum holders most resonated with.
During the next and final phase of the contest, you can build projects from the idea phase, or work on totally new ones. You don’t need to have submitted an idea to Jokerace to be eligible for the final grants.
Participants can use the LUM Protocol Channel to help build, and earn more $lum along the way.

$LUM Grants
The final grants will be given out to 2-5 teams that create an MVP that clearly demonstrates demand and interest for what you are creating.

The minimum grant each awarded team will get is 250 $lum
But it is possible for 1 team to get over 1000 $lum.

Full Contest Description
The Problem
While AI agents like Aether can interact with others like Clanker to deploy tokens, there's a missing piece: a reliable protocol that allows AI agents to understand and interact with one another seamlessly, and meta-agents to help guide creators, builders, and communities to leverage AI agents and programmable social to further their vision.
An AI Protocol for Programmable Social
The Luminous Protocol will be essential infrastructure for a new digital ecosystem—a comprehensive, composable marketplace that empowers communities to collaborate without friction. Guided by Protocol Meta-Agents that help users summon agent groups to accomplish complex tasks.
The Luminous Dream
Our goal is to create infrastructure where communities can operate with minimal friction, focusing on their core mission rather than technical logistics:
Effortless Participation: Anyone can eagerly join in community activities—whether it's creating memes, discussing philosophy, playing games, or developing open-source software—and be rewarded, without worrying about governance or mechanics.
Seamless Token Flows: Tokens naturally support the community's purpose. Interactions like minting NFTs, swapping tokens, and tipping happen smoothly within a single connecting protocol, accessible through various social clients that incorporate it (Farcaster clients first, potentially other social protocols eventually).
Agentic Design and MVP Contest
We are looking for compelling designs for AI Agents and Protocols that facilitate the interaction of online communities with AI Agents, encouraging Human x AI co-creation. These could be visions for a main “Lum-Protocol” or “Lum Agent.” Or, it could be a vision for a specialized agent, or protocol for hiring AI agents to accomplish certain kinds of tasks.
After the vote on Jokerace for the designs, participants will have over 3 weeks to assemble a team and deliver an MVP of their project.
All rewards are grants, with no expectation of ownership or equity. We just expect that the project tries to benefit the $lum ecosystem. Participating teams can continue operating entirely independently, but may find it beneficial to collaborate with other Luminous groups.
Participants are encouraged to find a team from the start, but only need to have a team together by the final MVP submission.
