Airdrop 1
We believe all builders deserve some recognition, but most builders are still unknown, while popular builders get most of the credit. BUILD Airdrop 1 was our answer to this problem, and aimed at reaching as many builders as possible and setting a baseline reputation for the BUILD community. The airdrop was a successful first experiment, allowing us to reach 200K+ people.
Airdrop 2
BUILD Airdrop 2 will be about building a sustainable and decentralized builder economy. We plan to run experiments around UBI (Universal Builder Income), that can reward committed builders with both social and financial capital. Because even a small reward can motivate builders to keep building.
The BUILD economy runs on nominations to redistribute value, and is designed to power more builder activity onchain. Funds enter the economy from organizations and sponsors that want to appeal to builders, and also from individuals that want to give back to a new generation of builders.

Airdrop 1 was a successful first experiment, but BUILD is just getting started. Now the community has a choice: we either commit or quit.

A collective commitment of >50% from Airdrop 1 (75B $BUILD), will be a very strong signal for the team to keep building during Onchain Summer, and to start preparing Airdrop 2 for September.

How to claim or commit your $BUILD?

In the claiming flow, you will be presented with 3 options:
Pay It All Forward
Commit 100% of your token allocation to the BUILD Summer Fund.
Airdrop allocation multiplier applied to tokens committed.
Participate in BUILD governance (in the future).
BUILD Budget for future airdrops based on tokens committed.
Featured in new leaderboard, ranked by tokens committed.
Split & Commit Half
Commit 50% of your token allocation to the BUILD Summer Fund.
Claim 50% of $BUILD tokens now, with allocation multiplier.
BUILD Budget for future airdrops based on tokens committed.
Featured in a new leaderboard, ranked by tokens committed.
Claim & Quit
Wait another week, and claim tokens only on June 18th.
Allocation multiplier is not considered.
Lower BUILD budget for the next airdrops.
BUILD Summer Fund
Tokens committed from Airdrop 1 will be redistributed to builders during the summer, using new variations of the nominations game. This will give the team time to prepare a great Airdrop 2 experience. It's important to move fast, but also not to rush things.
Currently, our summer priorities are:
Make nominations more natural and intrinsic-driven, for example by tagging @buildbot on Farcaster to nominate.
Receive notifications via Farcaster Direct Casts and XMTP.
Promote more composability, by improving the BUILD API and creating more public bounties to integrate with BUILD.
Kick-off ecosystem grants, to reward builders that are actively contributint to make BUILD better.
Create fun ways to spend $BUILD tokens and points, for example merch or lotteries.
Organize or sponsor IRL meetups. There's 2 already events planned, one for Lisbon (June 29-30) and another for Brussels (July 12).
Will you quit or commit?
Gm! I need your feedback... Some of you have been asking about price stability. The things I can do to control it are limited, but one idea is to make the season rewards payouts slowly drip out over time rather than all at once. I think 30 days would suffice. There is one major difference though. Many of us purchased farther to be eligible as opposed to build. So I would expect people to be willing to receive some amount of cash. But allowances might be boosted for who hold higher balances. Ham does it I think.
That’s is true, but of course it will be an option. Each can decide, same as with build.
About ham: I hold tn100x, nft, ham punks - and my allowance is ridiculous. It’s around $1.5 Not sure where it’s going, but I certainly don’t have much faith in it now
Maybe give people an option, they can claim it all right away or vest for 30 days and get a multiplier so they’ll earn even more
This is an interesting idea. Like I've held my degen for almost 3 season, but haven't had any "reward" for doing that.

I do not support vesting. We should try other means like what $build did and/or what degen will be doing (the more you hold, the higher your allowance is) Or introduce a new paradigm in which a minimum of farther should be in your wallet in order to be eligible for season 1 airdrop. We should onboard more people to the ecosystem and decrease the farther needed to 50k instead of 100k and just reward big holders higher allowance. Thanks for listening to your community! We love things to be announce beforehand not a surprise adjustment. I suggest you can apply it from next season or give people hold more got more allowance(this will help whale dumping to own just enough 100K for the tip) and make more sense

Personally, I would just let them go out all at once. You may get less interest in tipping and buying enough farther to tip if you put too many constraints on receiving rewards. But I’m here for the long run regardless so wouldn’t directly affect me.

Not a bad idea but I think it should be implemented from next season.
I don't support this, my suggestion is to reduce allowance of tips and also stop the evangelist rewards totally.
There aren't many good answers for people asking about token price action. Even if you can gimmick supply, how long can it be effective? I think time and resources are probably better suited for other growth areas. Props for asking out here in public btw ✨

I've been tryna commit all my rewards but I keep getting this metamask warning to proceed with transaction (like:higher fees may imply) proceeding to sign the txn...could take over $10 in Eth base Is that how it's meant to be ? @macedo

This week I built an Airdrop claiming mechanism for /build, that tried to persuade people to commit (aka donate) half or all of their token allocation. In less than 48h, 26k people already committed 67B $BUILD tokens, and claimed another 27B (from a total of 150B allocated to Airdrop 1). All tokens committed will be redistributed to builders during the summer, using new variations of the nominations game. now that we committed all our tokens back, will we be able to put in requests/proposals for allocation or is it all going to be nomination based?
it will be nomination based, but if you have ideas/proposals on how to better allocated these tokens to reward great builders, please let us know
Be interesting to think through normalizing the popularity vote by trickling down any over voted nominees to lower-ranked nominees. (ie: if the top 20 have X% over the average votes then the overage is redistributed but not affecting their rank) &/or categorize nominees into groups like Developer, Leader, Creator, and Viber to allow nominees to add another layer of builder identification. 🤔 🤷

Wasup Power Monday. I got my Airdrop clame for the build today. Those of you who are doing Season 1 of the build. Go to the Airdrop menu at the top of the screen and go to the clame page.
