The perfect Sunday indoor

Inspired by Ted’s “the perfect sunday” piece

There’s a lot to what one may say what an ideal Sunday should look like. As somebody who craves outside activities on weekends, you decide to explore something different.

For the first time you shut off all your timers. There’s no real deadlines on Sundays - they’re all construct anyway.

You smell the crisp late summer air through the crack of your window. You smile at a passerby who accidentally met eyes with you. Let light sip through, and fall on your skin. You water your plants, while also giving their leaves a gentle tug (pulse check) as you spray them moist.

You reset your couch cushions. Place them back into the color orders that you like.

You do yourself a nice skincare routine. Your skin now absorbs essence and lotions faster because of the way you’re used to rubbing it in quick so you can get to work. You decide to take it easy this time. Maybe also sprinkle some glitters on your cheek coz you’re feeling extra radiant within.

You dust off the cover of a book that you randomly pick off of your bookshelf. You find a hidden dollar that you used as a bookmark two years ago when you first read it. Flipping through your notes, you add a line or two under some old thoughts as a rebuttal to your younger self.

You invite a companion for the Sunday indoors. Together, you explore one corner of your house that you do not much on a weekday - the kitchen. Cook a nice meal, sharpen your knife, use different-sized bowls for each ingredient that you would otherwise all throw into a pot directly off of the chopping board. You have a little journey juice (chef’s samosa) with your companion. You say a tongue twister with cherry tomato’s in your mouth and have a good laugh at something silly.

You hear bustling noises coming from the neighborhood outside, and seeing people pacing their way through. You realize you don’t have to join them to call it a productive Sunday. You have just everything you need on your coffee table, in the book of your choice, in the cozy air of your curated indoor space.
