V4W.ENKO is an alias of Eugene Vashchenko dedicated to the algorithmic media art scene. He has worked as an artist since 2007 and currently creates his work using Max/msp/jitter/m4l, PD, Grasshopper3d and p5js. In his work, the audio/visual streams are realized in realtime through manipulation of his custom art algorithms. It’s been two years since The Distant Sea, and I feel drawn back to its depths. This time, I’m revisiting it in a new way, a 30-second audio-visual short. I want to capture the ocean’s voice, its quiet stories and hidden symphonies. As I listen to the waves and echoes, I realize the sea has always been speaking; I just needed to be still enough to hear.
