poidh is now 10x faster

Happy holidays, poidh fam! I wanted to share some exciting new developments for the project, a look at current initiatives we're running, and a sneak peek at what we have planned for the new year.

Recently poidh has been working with rockstar dev Yukigesho. We met at a Farcaster meetup here in Seattle and I was able to demo poidh with him that night.

After the demo experience, Yukigesho expressed interest in helping us refine the app a bit, and that led to us working together on launching a project that was a very long time coming: creating a dedicated database for poidh.

We launched the database last month, and the results have been outstanding. He outlines a journey in this Paragraph post. Here's the biggest highlight:

This, combined with his help addressing UI/UX bugs, has vastly improved the experience of using poidh. We still have a long way to go to make the app as snappy and responsive as possible, but the biggest hurdle has been cleared.

poidh has always been a proudly open-source project. However, many developers have had issues in the past getting up and running when exploring our GitHub. This should no longer be the case as we've put in place specific instructions to help guide you through the process of contributing:

We had a blast with our Halloween Costume Contest and decided to run back a similar promotion with the DEGEN team for the holiday season.

It's the biggest onchain gift drive of all time, and it's happening on Degen Chain 🎅🎩

The rules:

👉 Take a pic while dropping off a present at a gift drive

👉 Post the pic on social media and share the name of the gift drive, the organization it is being run by, and what you donated as a gift

👉 Upload the same pic via https://poidh.xyz/degen/bounty/852 + include a link to your social media post

The current prize pot is 44,755 DEGEN (~$500) but this is an OPEN bounty so anyone can add more DEGEN on Degen Chain to incentivize submissions.

Entries are allowed through 12/25, and a single grand prize winner will be announced before 12/31. The poidh and DEGEN teams will judge entries based on their adherence to contest guidelines, pic quality, and holiday spirit.

As a bonus, all legitimate claims will also receive an airdropped commemorative NFT designed by OG Degentleman 0xen.

Have you ever wanted to give poidh a shot, but struggled to think of a creative bounty idea? We've got you covered.

The bounty creation form now features a helpful "🤖" emoji that, when clicked, will generate a unique bounty idea!

In the future, we'll add features like the ability to give the bot a prompt that guides the bounty creation process or suggestions based on your poidh history. And, of course, more robust features like automated detection of AI-generated photos, "bot or not" type analysis of poidh accounts, and AI-guided claim selection are all in the pipeline.

However, what I'm most excited about is the potential for AI agents themselves to use poidh as a tool for creating bounties that move people to action IRL while subsequently judging submitted claims and paying out funds on their own. Thanks to the fully onchain nature of poidh and the seamless photo submission process, I think there's huge potential for it to become a natural bridge that AI agents use to impact the offline world.

I've spoken to builders who are interested in exploring this concept and the initial proposals are intriguing. Hopefully, we'll be able to share some exciting news about product launches utilizing poidh very soon 👀.
