Weekly Digest: Degen gets a Coinbase listing, channels get cozier, trending is no longer trending

This week's core FC updates, by the numbers

#1 - Degen is coming to Coinbase

The holy grail of any meme coin is getting listed on a top centralized exchange. It means immediate distribution, liquidity and volume - generally leading to a price increase thanks to the enhanced exposure.

So when Jesse announced that the OG meme token of Farcaster (after POINTS and FARTS, of course) was coming to Coinbase, people went crazy...and then had a followup question: would that impact Moxie?

Narrator: Yes. It was a good thing.

#2 - Channels are getting a full revamp. The FC world is ready-ish.

Fundamental changes are coming to our favorite hashtags-turned-communities. Here are some primary updates:

- You'll need to be an invited member to post
- Anyone can reply/engage
- Channel managers can still choose to let everyone post, it will just take some automod-ing.

More ready than we are, tbh.

#3 - Trending is no longer trending

The trending tab lets you see content that's...trending. Hot. Widely distributed. You get it. It's a good way to be made aware of active corners of the protocol where you maybe don't spend much time - like /chiikawa .

But the Home algo was recently enhanced by machine learning and now pulls trending casts in so...do we kill the vestigial appendage? Dan posed the question today and by the looks of it, most people don't care if it goes away.

But most may not be enough to kill it, as 25% seem to like it.

We kinda like it too.

And just like that, you're caught up on the week.
