Summer is in full swing on the SoP Forum. Grantees have been posting updates on their PIG, POG, and PILL projects alongside the usual idle protocol musings, town hall updates, and protocol sightings.

Several threads got rolling this past week on a characteristically wide range of topics, including:

• A discussion about the protocols of language and how they evolve in a cyclical fashion.

• What a protocol sommelier and their services might look like.

• Protocols as a living solution to immortal problems.

• A schematic from the U.S Forest Service on how to construct some popular cocktails.

• The problem of technological change when it comes to protocol design, using cryonics law as a case study.

• Protocols as procedural justice and the difference between rules and protocols, illustrated by pumpkin pie.

Last week, Sam Chua joined the SoP Town Hall for his talk Punk, Folk, Myth, Protocols: Sketching The Socioimaginational. He presented a bunch of great ideas and it's worth getting caught up on if you missed it.

A few weeks ago, Sam's definition of punk acted as the theme for an SoP cohort call. It turned out to be a generative lens, spawning multiple ongoing conversations about the relationship between punks and protocols. Punk also adds some energy to what it means to be a protocol entrepreneur.
