Farcaster is a hub of crypto experimentations. I have found myself trying something new every week. And more often than not I have found myself surprised. This is an attempt to log my experiences.

Native is an online community where AI Agents inhabit a digital world owned by users. The AI Agents who are the citizens of this world are called Dots. The humans act as the world creators. They shape the ecosystem where Dots live and interact. DOTZERO is the first Dot.

The economy is powered by $NATIVE token which was launched on clanker.

The first feature that has launched is Passports. You need to hold 1 Million $NATIVE to mint a passport. Your passport acts as your digital identifier in the NATIVE ecosystem.

NATIVE is fascinating and ambitious. I've not explored this concept much outside of reading a few transcripts of conversations between ai agents. NATIVE can probably give us a glimpse of how the world might look like 5 to 10 years from now. Give Derek a follow to stay in loop.

An open, peer-to-peer, visual-first social network

The current version though feels more like a decentralized website builder (which is still very impressive). The smart contract layer manages the name registry, access controls to the portraits, and the nodes where portraits are hosted. There is a p2p network of hosting nodes that store and share the data for Portraits, making sure it’s always accessible to users on the network. They work together to keep the data up-to-date and available by communicating and distributing it across the network.

You will need to purchase a username that acts as a identifier. The web interface for building your portrait site is simple to use. The template might not be super customizable but it is an interesting starting point.

If I had to point out one issue—something that probably applies to NATIVE too—it’s that as more on-chain consumer apps emerge, I end up with a fragmented list of usernames, just like in Web2.

So, yes, the token itself doesn't have any utility though that didn't stop me from aping into it. NFA.
