Put on your towel, it’s time to go to the park!
The /milo channel on Warpcast is a place for puppy-loving, towel-wearing, scenecoin degenerates.
The channel gives off predominately fun, tongue-in-cheek, based meme vibes.
However, the $MILO token, and its gamified ecosystem, are far more advanced than your typical memecoin.
History
The $MILO experiment was originally announced by NickySap (@nickysap) in March 2024, with the official launch taking place in August.
But the origin story of $MILO dates back all the way to 2023, when NickySap announced the first iteration of $MILO – $DVDOGE.
Based on Nicky’s real-life dog, Milo, $DVDODGE was launched on the Ethereum network with the intention of exploring the unique dynamics of the memecoin market.
However, as life took over, and interest faded, NickySap put the memes to the side to focus on other projects.
It wasn’t until March, when Nicky discovered Farcaster and the vibrant Scenecoins thriving on Warpcast, that he decided to relaunch his meme experiment.
Scene
Nicky and the Milo team went all-out for the $MILO relaunch.
The /milo channel obtained over 6k followers before the token launched, thanks in large to the Based Puppy initiative and the MiloWifTowel meme culture.
However, the Milo Scene is just as much about the tech and the experimental nature of the token as it is about the memes.
The token itself has incorporated advanced first-of-its-kind anti-jeet measures to deter whale activity and prevent ‘poison’ actors from infiltrating the ecosystem.
Its gamified ecosystem centered around the BabyMilo NFT collection (of which 10 are released each week) brings an additional layer of depth to the Milo scene and promotes continued engagement from the community.
Future
1000 BabyMilo NFTs are planned to be released at a rate of 10 per week, meaning the core Milo ‘game’ will continue for at least another 2 years for those who continue to engage with the ecosystem.
There are also multiple in-frame Milo mini-games planned that will benefit (or be exclusive to) BabyMilo holders.
And all BabyMilo NFTs themselves can be staked long-term to earn up to 80k $MILO.
The community in the /milo channel also continues to thrive, with $MILO giveaways through Rounds contests and a near-infinite Milo meme supply posted regularly.
