Summary Recent observational studies have shown that people with sarcopenia or low skeletal muscle mass have a 36~100% increased risk of total mortality. However, measures to prevent this have not yet been established. Sarcopenia should not be seen as a health problem, but as a process of disuse, ageing and natural phenomenon.
抽出されたアウトカム指標は、appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASMM)、the fat-free mass (FFM)、握力、歩行速度、という筋肉量・筋力の評価と、5-chair stand test (CST)、timed up and go (TUG)、という身体機能が評価されています。

Conclusion Sarcopenia is associated with a significantly higher risk of mortality, independent of population, sarcopenia definition, follow-up period, and risk of bias. This stresses the need for early detection and diagnosis of sarcopenia in all populations to implement interventions preventing and treating sarcopenia in a timely manner.
