Post-interop, I compiled several potential process improvements for AllCoreDevs, network upgrade planning and @EthMagicians. I finally got around to posting them for consideration
https://ethereum-magicians.org/t/allcoredevs-network-upgrade-ethmagicians-process-improvements/20157/1
First ACD proposal: saving time on ACD calls by moving EIP reviews to a mostly async process (while still flagging them to teams live) ๐บ
Second ACD proposal: standardize how we run breakout rooms with a template ๐
Third ACD proposal: continue the move towards async team updates, but don't standardize them to leave both teams and individuals flexibility in how they want to express their views ๐ฃ
Network Upgrade Proposal 1: Introduce "Proposed" and "Scheduled" for Inclusion statuses, alongside "Considered for Inclusion" (CFI), to create a default way for people to propose EIPs for forks, and better reflect the different meaning of each stage
Network Upgrade Proposal 2: Formally track EIP Reviews, again, with a template Introducing a default format for discussions-to
threads on EthMag would make it easier to surface high-signal feedback on EIPs ๐
NUP 3: Aligning the EIP process with the network upgrade one better. The biggest blocker to do this is having more EIP editor bandwidth. Maybe a way to unblock this is have client teams commit to help with this by default ๐ค
And, lastly, three proposals for @EthMagicians itself:
- Summaries/announcements for breakouts
- Revamping categorization on the forum
- Again, more admins to help with all this
