Beachfront condos
stand on dune tops
watching over
the sea-kissed coast -
they dream of
being mythical creatures.
On the beach one evening, I looked back at the land behind us. The buildings stood on top of the dunes, and they looked like a procession of creatures searching for a different life. Inanimate object coming to life. In this age of rapidly developing AI, where AI-powered tools or bots, such as ChatGPT and the Aether bot on Farcaster, can seem more humane than many humans operating in the public arena, this seemed a fitting poem. We humans have been breathing life into inanimate object, or even humanity into non-human beings for as long as we have been recording our lives. Even if the tools are changing, we are still doing the same thing.
So, these buildings I saw, they are aiming higher, and dream of becoming mythical creatures. What are you dreaming of becoming?
The poem above is a highku, a poetic form inspired by the higher culture on Farcaster and the Japanese poetic form haiku.

Poésie de la vie
I may have shared about the Strandbeests before. They are manmade mythical creatures, so very fitting for today's issue as well.
