Lens Permissionless? The Buzz Around LIP-5 🌿
So, what's a LIP? In simple terms, it's a Lens Improvement Proposal, acting like a roadmap for evolving Lens Protocol, steering it towards more open governance and decentralisation.
Think of LIPs as the guidebook for Lens Protocol. They help keep everything in order and let the community have a say in how Lens evolves, much like the Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs).
LIP-5 is basically “THE” Proposal for Lens to become permissionless, so everyone could join the Garden. Here’s a short breakdown:
Key Community Feedback 👍
Wider user adoption is crucial. Time for Lens to become permissionless!
Lens has unique tech wonders. More users mean more use cases and iterations.
Opening up requires careful planning against spam and maintaining quality.
Lens needs a strategy to attract quality users, not just high numbers.
The main barrier for app developers and building userbases could be removed by making Lens permissionless.
What does this mean? Most likely, "Habemos PERMISSIONLESS" soon!!
Stani's post backs our thoughts: "Seems that a consensus is forming to progress Lens Protocol towards permissionless access. Added my ideas about the costs of creating a profile https://github.com/lens-protocol/LIPs/pull/29)."
But, Challenges Await 🤔
Impact on network gas prices and infrastructure costs
Potential Changes on the Horizon?🤓
Decentralising onboarding across various apps to reduce reliance on a single point of entry.
Possible introduction of email login (🤢) or paid handle registration to balance accessibility and network costs.
Empowering apps for a more decentralised ecosystem, reducing the centralisation risk.
Utilising existing experienced talent for initial onboarding support.
Exploring future automation support to enhance retention.
Lens might soon be tossing the keys to the garden! So, let's get ready for a whole new world of wildflowers and maybe a few weeds 🌷🎋
What do you think about opening the gates on Lens?

Tokenized Teslas Transform Car Sharing 🚗
Vienna, Austria's Eloop & Peaq Network's Web3 Innovation
Gear up, Web3 fam! Vienna's car-sharing service Eloop is teaming up with Peaq Network, and they're revving up the industry with 100 tokenized Teslas. This isn't just about sharing cars; it's about owning a piece of the action!
The Deal with Tokenized Teslas:
Fractional Ownership: Buy tokens, own a slice of the Tesla fleet. The more you invest, the bigger your share.
Revenue Sharing: Your tokens aren't just shiny digital assets; they're your ticket to a cut of the daily rental earnings.
Making Car Sharing Simple:
Eloop's got the legalities covered, making investing in these vehicles as easy as tapping a button.
Think of it as "car sharing 2.0" – hassle-free and revolutionary.
Why This Matters:
Blockchain Meets Real-World Assets: This isn't just about tech; it's about bringing blockchain to everyday life, blending the digital with the physical.
Expanding Beyond Car Sharing: Picture decentralized electric vehicle charging and ride-hailing services. It's not just about cars; it's a shift in how we own and control our data.
EU and the Future:
With clear regulations (thanks to the EU's MiCA), scaling this concept across Europe is more than just a pipe dream.
As AI and automation grow, tokenizing assets like Teslas could democratize the benefits, reducing wealth inequality and opening up new investment avenues.
In a Nutshell:
Eloop and Peaq are paving the way for a new era of car sharing and blockchain adoption. It's about owning a piece of the pie and reaping the rewards in the age of automation. Keep an eye on this space – the road to Web3 car sharing is just getting started! 🌍
