Welcome to the 18th edition of the Vrbish Newsletter! In this edition we discuss cold plunges in frozen rivers, incentivizing community support, refurbishing bus stops and skateparks, and the new Vrbs Basketball League.
Let's dive in...
It's Movember
Vrbs Architect Jerk will be swimming in the frigid South Saskatchewan River every single day he receives a donation for Movember, which supports men's mental health and suicide prevention, as well as raising awareness for testicular and prostate cancer.
This is a mental battle for Jerk every single day, with water temperatures just a hair above freezing (34 degrees F, or 1 degree C).
When stating his motivation for taking on such a project, Jerk said, "I've suffered from mental health issues and feel that there is not enough support for young men experiencing these types of issues. I'm hoping to make an impact with my campaign and raise funds and awareness through Movember."
He's already raised $1,000!
Artists finding creative ways to gain traction
This past week, one Vrbs Artist came up with a unique way to gain traction and earn more votes on his pieces.
kanyetothe.eth, or @alahley, was early to Vrbs and created a few pieces that got buried in the Art Race. To refresh these pieces, he re-sponsored them, pushing them to the top of the Art Race. He also found a way to incentivize votes, anyone who voted on the first piece would be listed as a creator on the second piece, effectively splitting the creator revenue with anyone that supported it.
This flywheel effect is an excellent example of maintaining community engagement and incentivizing support!
Let us know, what other creative methods creators can use to get more support for their Vrbs art?
Bus Stop Refurbishment
Vrbs Legend Cool Beans spent over 4 hours cleaning up and painting a bus stop for the local kids that have to travel 45 minutes to the nearest school!
And checkout that Vrbs Logo! Awesome work!
Vrbs Basketball League
Fawkes opened a new Grant to start a Vrbs Basketball League in their community in the Philippines!

In a previous edition I discussed the work Toadi had been doing to fix up a local skatepark. After lot's of work we have progress photos, and it's looking very Vrbish!
Thank you for reading and supporting Vrbish! Our mission is to spread awareness of Vrbs DAO and the builders and creators that make it thrive.
