Gramajo’s Corner

I've been reflecting recently as I completed my two years of doing this. You may or may have not noticed I didn't send an issue last week. This was for two reasons, one there wasn't too much I wanted to say and I didn't feel like spamming peoples inbox with something I wasn't really proud of. Instead I tried something new, which was sending a quick update of the bangers and calling it a day. The other reason is I've been thinking that my content is eh.

Don't get me wrong, I hate clickbait titles and triggers just to get people's attention. It really isn't my style but I really do enjoy pineapple on pizza. Twitter has also been nerfing my content like crazy or again, my shit is just not spicy enough. Either way, I think I need to change it up, I am exploring what that means but for all those who support me via hypersub, feedback or words of encouragement, thank you.

Completed our first community round on area51 and we had lots of entries and lots of DEGEN to give away. Was definitely a fun experiment and one I will continue doing.

In case you missed it, earlier last week I dropped my Cool Shit Spotlight #3 which I have been having a blast writing about because it lets me explore things that don't fall into buckets of the weekly newsletter or just deserve their own attention.

This week join me as well as I sit down with Brennen the Founder of Tavern as we talk about his Twitter spaces competitor, Berachain and more.

Art

Music NFTs isn't something I usually cover here but I have been trying to onboard some musician friends into launching music NFTs. Coop is probably one of the bigger voices when it comes to music NFTs and have been a big advocate for them for a while. He recently dropped a new site that makes it easier to collect and reward collectors of Music NFTs.

Vinnie Hager showed us a preview of a mural or art installation he worked on for a new apartment complex that looks epic. Vinnie's style is so dope and it is amazing to see at this scale even in the muted colors of cement.

I've been exploring doing some shirts and one of my favorite companies in the space must be reading my mint as they released a tshirt buying store for people to just customize and launch their project while having digital mirrors on the blockchain.

As most of you know I don't usually cover PFPs but I've been really digging the energy and vibes of Nouns and the space they are building (also happy birthday to the team, keep on building). As mentioned on this newsletter before, Nounspace is a myspace take but with the legos of Web3 and it is really fun, you can check out mine here. I tried messing with it before but the experience was a bit rough but in a short period of time, the experience to messing with this has gotten way better. If you want to build one just let me know.

!wen Lambo? Well it seems that one of the most premium brands in the world will be joining in the metaverse soon enough. At this stage, this should not surprise us, but instead what we must ask ourselves is will these brand half ass it or will they embrace the culture of web3, the internet and memes. So far it seems Lambo is willing to at least try with the messaging, will definitely keep an eye out for this.

Friction is one of the easiest ways to kill a great idea. Web3 has this issue right now with so many steps to just "mint". Selling an NFT requires a bunch of steps, seriously count them. Solana has really focusing on making this experience easier and easier with their great design and now they are taking it one step further with minting a photo. I don't think it is a coincidence that in the same week, Surreal another app on Eth that helps you digest web3 media also launched a similar feature.

Similar to the stories above Stephan launched a Story like frame feature on Farcaster. Based on a previous Tavern spaces with The Late Night Crew, Dan really likes Instagram and what they have done on changing user behavior on their app when they borrow features from other apps. Maybe this one of those features that gets yoinked and incorporated into the main app if it takes off. To be honest, I think I would be down as I don't really post to the grid on IG mostly stories. A great example can be seen by Ted below as well.

Tech

If you are reading this on Chrome or are a user of Chrome, do yourself a favor and move browsers. All these companies want more data from you, some more than others. Blocking or not allowing uBlock origin to continue functioning on Chrome is a step in the wrong direction. I don't use Chrome but figured I would share. Use Brave or Firefox isntead.

Not to continue being the bearer of bad news but you always need to keep your guard up even in down markets. Cybersecurity researchers have uncovered a critical vulnerability in cryptocurrency hardware wallets dubbed "Dark Skippy." This attack demonstrates that a compromised hardware wallet can potentially steal a user's entire seed phrase in just two transactions, a significant escalation from previous assumptions. The method involves manipulating the signature process to leak parts of the secret seed, which an attacker can then reconstruct. While not yet observed in the wild, Dark Skippy highlights the crucial importance of using genuine, verified hardware wallets and maintaining strict device security. You can read more below about this attack vector.

Last bit on the bad news, I've told yall before about Tether but also keep in mind that any clear/transparent blockchain this will continue to happen. Privacy isn't something that only criminals want and don't let anyone else make you feel like that.

A ton of artist/creators have been moving towards taking more control of their audiences (rightfully so) which I am all for. With so many of them exploring ways to incorporate crypto into their phygital world, I found this solution interesting for anyone who has their own sites.

Dawg, I really do love the internet an web3. I swear I have not had this much since I used to go to meet ups when I first go into the space back in 2013. Taking a playbook from Farterminal, Stxcity is looking to enable a twitter feed. Stxcity is an easy way to launch a coin on the popular BTC L2 and this twitter feed completes the user experience. This is one of my favorite features with Farterminal with a channel feed. Spin up a twitter handle for your project and you are off to the races with your coin in a web2.5 world.

Again, I absolutely love this space. We can pick and borrow ideas from other platforms and build them for our own chains. Bountycaster has been a popular way of doing tasks, work, and building an onchain reputation on ETH. The STX/BTC community has their own equivalent they have been working on and boy oh boy does this look good. Online reputations mean a lot and this is step in the direction for the space and hope that by the time we get to the bull, we have mature tool to really show those who are deep believers of this future we are going towards.

Hypersub continues pushing the boundaries of what an onchain Patreon can do. At some point, I really do think that Hypersub will have so many new features to empower creators that it won't even be a question of fees between the two but what features you value.

Ubisoft partnerd up with Arbitrum to bring an onchain game to life. I am still hyper bullish on gaming and web3 and how that brings more users onchain. Ubisoft tends to either make hits or duds so hopefully this is a more of a hit than a dud haha.

Market Insights

XCOPY remains hot throughout this market with two nice sales, Best Case Scenario and Hackproof

ACK seems to be on a similar trend as well which I can't help but smile because the quality of his work is top notch especially the physicals. Some alfa, I pick up my physical soon from the framer!

Upcoming

Party recently launched a new way to launch a coin on ETH and it looks like they have another product coming out later this week. Party I feel has been doing a great job of grabbing a complex onchain action and making it easier. Want to create a DAO but everything feels a bit too daunting, they have a tool. Want to launch a coin but not certain how to do it without rugging your users or want to give them confidence, they got you. All with a chat on the backend, so I am really curious what this tool will be/do.

Big fan of footy and Nouns FC came across my timeline I was intrigued.

Collectibles

Killer Acid has really been on a tear this year with collectibles or physical goods. This shirt and shorts are no slouches.

Doodles dropped their Adidas collab, nothing crazy to write about but glad to see they are still continuing to leverage such a big brand to get their name out there.

Meme Of The Week

As the Olympics come to an end this one was a fitting way to end it.
