Guide for the Nubit Node

all about nodes - /nodes-dk

Nubit is a project that is creating the world's first Data Availability Layer, fully secured by the Bitcoin network. The main goal of Nubit is to provide scalable and cost-effective data management for Bitcoin applications, such as Ordinals and Layer 2 solutions.

Nubit raised $11M from Polychain Capital, with participation from Nomad Capital, dao5, The Spartan Group, Primitive, OKX Ventures, L2 Iterative Ventures, GeekCartel, Symbolic Capital, Big Brain Holdings, GCR, Protagonist, Gate Ventures, Animoca Ventures, Mask Network.

The node can be "hosted" alongside a Farcaster Node or any other project with similar requirements that are about twice as demanding.

Specifications

  • 1 CPU

  • 1GB RAM

  • 40GB SSD

  • Ubuntu 22.04

The team has announced the launch of the first stage of the testnet, which is divided into 3 phases:

  • Community Assemble

  • Light Node Quest

  • Testnet Adventure

To participate in the testnet, we can install a light node. The node is installed using a script, and the installation takes approximately 5 minutes.

Installing the node

  1. Download the script:

wget -q -O nubit.sh https://github.com/BananaAlliance/guides/raw/main/nubit/nubit.sh && chmod +x nubit.sh
  1. Start the installation:

./nubit.sh install

During the installation process, it will require confirmation. Type y and press Enter.

  1. Wait for the installation process to complete.

Make sure to save your PUBKEY!

  1. Get your node's address by running the command:

./nubit.sh get_address
  1. Go to the faucet and receive tokens for your address.

  1. Wait for about 20 minutes, then go to the website and connect your Keplr wallet:

  1. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter your PUBKEY, which you received during the installation, into Step 3.

  1. If it asks you to wait 15 minutes, then you should wait a bit longer and try to verify your node again.

The logs of a working node typically look like this:

  1. Make sure to save your node's mnemonic phrase:

./nubit.sh show-mnemonic

That's all. If you have any questions, feel free to write them in the comments of any post in the channel /nodes-dk
